Very eloquent, and nice musings too! You've captured Mary's personality well, including the sibling rivalries and thoughts of a quiet life.

I think this portrays Mary's feelings quite well. And she was indeed lucky; she had true love and children and got to stay alive. Being discarded by the king must have hurt quite badly, but at least she got what she truly wanted when she realised that it wasn't bad to be in her position of obscurity at all.

Mary really wouldn't have made a good queen, simply because I don't think it was in her nature to crave attention and be comfortable amidst strife and chaos. I also don't think she'd be intelligent enough for it (no nastiness implied), but that's a different matter. All in all, a good oneshot!

Nice story. I read 'The Other Boylen Girl' seven years ago and found it to be a very interesting book. I saw the movie also several years ago.

Though this really wasn't much of a story I will say that it probably very much surmised who Mary felt. If you think about it, she kept her head while her sister and her brother did not. In the end though she was discarded by the king in favour of her younger sister, she kept her life and that indeed is a victory.

I loved it! I thought as you read and review so many of my stories I should read some more of yours. Your writing style is wonderful. And I agree, Mary was the luckiest Boleyn (though, I must admit, although I love her, I wish it had been George sometimes)
