Oh, and yes: the dreams were a hell of a lot more than aesthetic choices. They really suck you into this state of is-it-happening?-aw-shit-no that parallels exactly what Gray is feeling. And the slow progression of intimacy in the dreams right up to her shattering in his arms in the last, brought out his insecurities and misgivings perfectly. My favourite was probably the one where he sees Lucy kissing Natsu, and wakes up to go wordlessly beat the shit out of him xD Classic Fullbuster move.

I've always liked GraLu but lately it's been something of a compulsive craving, the only thing I seem to want to read anymore, that's led to me scouring the web for as much of this ship as possible. And I have to say: your story made me feel things I didn't know the human body was capable of.

While reading the dream sequences it was so floaty and wistful, then when he has these quiet moments of dejection something started fraying within me, and when they finally get their happiness in the end I just about melted.

You have a very evocative way with words that paints Gray's feelings poignantly. The use of cold metaphors like melting and dry ice and freezing was clevermade it feel more like his perspective. So many lines in this story were little works of art unto themselves!

The part where Lucy catches him rambling lewdly about her bodythat was one of the most ingenious twists I've seen in a fic yet. Completely unexpected and yet, when it happens, entirely expectable. You can see exactly what pushed him to wearily give in. It's a rare gift, to be able to write characters that are still sympathetic in their flawed-ness.

Also, I love how playful Lucy is during the ending scene. (Hell, I think I fell for her when she snickered about the paddleboats.) And SHE being the one to plant a self-assured, utterly assertive kiss on Gray at the end really sealed the deal. Congrats on a lovely storyI'll be rereading it foe ages to come!

I loved reading this! Gray's pining is so realistic and adorable. I'm watching the anime and I miss their interactions so much :'( So I've been reading/writing a lot of GrayLu to make up for it. Also, wingman Elfman ftw
