While this is a nice little one shot, I noticed a rather glaring problem.

Are the humans BLIND?! Jake wears a hat, an ammo belt, and a GATLING GUN as a rattle. How do the humans NOT notice them?

A very gripping one-shot. It perfectly describes the horror that is a round-up, and Jake's reactions were both believable and in-character. Well done.

Jake needs a love interest _

This story is brilliant. I've just recently watched Rango and have fallen in love with the couple Rango and Beans rather then Rattlesnake Jake, though he's still one of my favorite characters.

I actually came across this gem before I ever saw the movie, but I did know it's premise so I wasn't that confused. This story provoked two things in me. 1 was the desire to see Rango and 2 was the interest in just how cruel these round-ups are. After a youtube/google search, I can safely say that this story turned me into a Rattlesnake activest. I'm so happy Jake split this one up.

That's so sad :( I don't know how anyone could do something so evil to such a facinating creature? This was very sad, but I loved the end when Jake saved everyone and shook his tail, triumphant. xD I loved at the beginning when Jake told the others who he was and one snakesaIidd," How the hell did YOU get caught?" :)

I remember reading this on dA, and I love it!

I even got the chance to watch a vid about Rattlesnake Roundups, and OMFG! It is one of the most horrid things my eyes to have ever seen! Poor rattlers! :(

Awesome job again! Your writing skills are superb and you were great at describing the scenery with all five senses to give us a clear picture of what was going on the entire time.

It's so funny that you use this because I actually went to a Rattlesnake Roundup one year when I was younger and yes, it smells AWFUL in there. I remember being so grossed out when I saw skins hanging for everyone to see. I was pretty young, so I wasn't expecting to see that haha. I just wanted to see live ones, but I don't even remember if I saw any or not.

Woo! That was awesome! Very well-written, too. The Rattlesnake Roundup definitely sounds like a despicable practice. Good for Jake for giving those bastards what for. He deserves a chance to be the hero. He's a great villain, but I think he'd be an even better hero :D
