Good story. Plausible. Miscommunication between species is a given where humans dominate. We even humanize inanimate objects! So imagine us thinking we are correctly communicating with intelligence beyond our atmosphere!

I liked the author's interpretation of Uhura's progressive thoughts on her relationship with Spock and seeing what no one else probably could, destiny in the making.

Excellent work! I really liked this fic! Nice writing, characterization, and plenty of love for Uhura, despite her pain and story.

I like the implications that Nyota and Scotty might get together, I've always thought those two would be a cute couple. _

This was such a wonderful story, and I really liked how you did the whole thing from Nyota's point of view.

She knew he prided himself upon his impenetrable Vulcanian control. She also knew that he was not nearly as in-control of himself as he believed.

There were other Vulcans at the Academy, not many, but enough that with her observation skills she was fairly familiar with their behavior. They were neither kind nor unkind, happy nor unhappy, interested nor disinterested; they were completely neutral with smooth faces and voices. Even when she had espied them in a group interacting with each other, they were the same.

He, on the other hand, was highly expressive if one took the time to look.

From their first conversation, she could see that he loved his culture, his language, poetry.

As time went on, he unknowingly revealed more with his facial movements and voice tone.

He got excited by student progress and beautiful things. He loved his mother and his distant father. He was fascinated by space and science. He disliked the cold and alien cuisine. He was proud to the point of arrogance and headstrong, and for all of his amazing accomplishments, he was still desperately seeking approval.

YES, YES! Congratualtions, of all the people who write Spock, I do believe that you are the one to best say it. That is how I see Spock. Wonderful job, truly!

I really feel for all the characters in this chapter. You have a wonderful talent for making me, at least, really get invested into the characters and love them.

I don't know any other signs, actually. I think I already said this, but I haven't seen the movie.

However, while this doesn't make me want to see the movie, I am already quite invested in your version of the characters, and I have to admit that the way you're doing Nyota is giving me a perverse sort of glee. I don't know why, it just seems to suit her...

If, you know, Spock were to actually do that, I can really only see it the way you wrote it. Everyone else who tried to do something like it missed a vital part, I believe. I don't know what that part was, however, I just know that you managed to nail it. Great job!

I admire you for your story. I am most definitely NOT a Spock/Uhura shipper, but that doesn't mean I want to see either of them get hurt. The idea that there can be a gradual understanding that, as you put it, "He was meant for someone else", is a grand one. Don't worry about the addiction to slash and soulmates. We've all got our weakness; we apparently have this one in common. I'll alert this story so I can follow along. Great work.

I love the way these chapters move and sway like the ocean in a sea of words and thought. Nicely done.
