I mean I understand why Harry's friends are angry, but at the same time I don't think he deserves the anger that he's receiving. He's the one who sacrificed all of his choices for 7 years for people to make their lives better. Honestly, I like the Slytherins views on it more than the Gryffindors. Keep what you received as a gift, and repay the debt. Like Hermione's pride must be much more important than her so call belief in freeing the house elves, if she's willing to destroy the law that's been passed just because she didn't pass the legislation solely with her own efforts. And Ron? Ron has always been a jerk, who's loyalty has been so fragile that he's not even worth mentioning. I understand it must be shocking to think that all your "achievements" weren't your own, but due to your friend. I understand that, but I think I would be more disappointed than anything else.

Its hard to understand why Harry doesn't want to be an Auror. He made the contract so that he could help people which seems to be the only thing he actually enjoys or brings purpose to his life and honestly, Harry always struck me a person that thrives on adrenaline. He he was willing to lose his job because it was tainted by political maneuvering that Ron and Hermione were too naive too notice, than I could see it but for Harry to really have no career ambitions at all seems sad but also just strange.
Interesting to see Ron and Hermione's reactions. On the one hand I agree that they have a right to feel that Harry betrayed them, but I would think that mixed in would be gratitude for what he did. Because in the end, does Hermione care about House-elf rights, or that she was the one that was able to do it? If its truly the former than she should acknowledge that despite the methods, Harry acted for the best. If its the latter, Hermione is more of a hypocrite than she would want to admit

Really happy with how this chapter turned out. I was worried that Harry was going to give in and have sex with Malfoy even when he was upset and had said no, which I really hate to see. Everyone should be respected when they refuse sex and the fact that Harry is sorting out his feelings and standing by them is a nice development. I still feel that Harry is written as a disproportionately screwed up character- as though everything that he is feeling is wrong and Draco has all the answers when in reality he has the right to feel upset that his oldest friendships are collapsing- but its nice for him assert himself

My major problem with Draco and Harry as a couple is I can never understand why someone like Harry would ever want to be with someone with Draco. Harry is an inherently good person and Draco- isn't. Except that his entire story seems to be based around the idea that Draco should be praised for being deceptive and horrible but at least is honest enough to admit that he is.

I wish Harry was protrayed as a stronger character. It takes real strength to sacrifice your own happiness for the good of others and other than trait being acknowledged, he's seen as weak and a coward. Unable to do anything without Draco point out how to be a better person. And then when Draco tells him that he doesn't care about him one way or the other, Harry still stays with him. Which is just terrible.
