-Would the Joker really consider himself to have won "the battle for Gotham's soul?" Would have seemed like that to him when SWAT took him in, but I would have thought that Harvey Dent's martyr status would have reached him relatively quickly.

-Nitpicks aside, I thought this was very well written. What makes it so is that it's more a case of 'showing' the Joker rather than 'telling' him. Yes, it's an awkward cliche to use in this case, but in layman's terms, while it's from the Joker's POV, we still get limited insight into his mind. We're shown what he thinks without getting into written thought. Usually I would mark a fic down when there's an overreliance on narrative to convey a character's thoughts rather than showing the thoughts in written form, but I think it works well for the Joker, regardless of media. The lack of insight into his mind makes him all the more creepy.

There was a bit of deja vu, such as in "why so serious" and "everyone starts losing their minds," but this is forgivable. Not that I've actually written for the Joker myself, but I can imagine that he and villains who fall into the "crazy and loving it" villain paradigm would generally be hard to write for.

So yeah. Great job.
