justjoe chapter 2 . 8/12/2017 I don't understand how a Cousland would ever spare Loghain's life given his endorsement of Howe's activities. She is still consumed with guilt, yet spares his life. Makes no sense. It made no sense saving his life in the game either as there were several strong, trustworthy warriors available. This conceptually doesn't work for me at all. |
Sue Donym chapter 48 . 11/13/2014 I'm just... flailing over here. I loved this entire story TO PIECES, including all the lovely little companion stories. Loghain was just... so perfect. All the work you did weaving in the lore, I just... wow. I'm so glad I decided to look up Loghain fics on a whim today! What a gem this is! |
Sue Donym chapter 31 . 11/12/2014 Wow, this was a gorgeous chapter. It gave me chills. |
Sue Donym chapter 29 . 11/12/2014 OMG, tears are streaming down my face. |
Sue Donym chapter 22 . 11/12/2014 Oh, my heart is all fluttery! What a great speech from Loghain. And with a kiss! Squee! |
Sue Donym chapter 17 . 11/12/2014 I usually save my review for the end but oh, my. Loghain's words had me in tears. Just perfect. |
DontCountMeOut chapter 48 . 8/19/2013 My God! This was amazing, and just engaging the whole way through! I am very happy I found this. There aren't a lot of Loghain stories to begin with, and to find one that I truely enjoy is a treat unto itself. So thank you for writing this truly inspiring and enjoyable tale. And it is a tale, a very wonderful one. DCMO :) |
Kylemoor chapter 15 . 7/26/2013 I think I have made a review on this chapter before, if not here's one. In Dragon Age II, Hawke asks Flemeth where she learned to be a dragon. Flemeth replies "Perhaps I am a dragon. If so, the smell of burning Darkspawn does nothing for the appetite." Not an exact quote but close enough. If you didn't play Dragon Age II before writing this, good interpretation. If you did, good catch. |
bigjon7171 chapter 1 . 10/21/2012 you were always my favorite author... |
moiradeathwidow chapter 48 . 7/12/2012 An intriguing story line and twists. I've read the first chapters and I'm hooked! I love the way you introduce romance between two supposed-to-be enemies. Brilliant work. |
Adventfather chapter 48 . 6/12/2012 I had time on my hands and felt that since I've read this gem so many times, it's only right to review it. When I first played through Origins, I chose to spare Loghain out of respect for his tactical ability as well as the knowledge he carried on how to deal with a large army with the odds facing against his own. (Having the same voice actor as Kain from Legacy of Kain may have contributed to the decision as well since I'm a sucker for things like that) But I never really thought of his life past the Blight or chasing after Morrigan in the grand scheme of things. You did and created a heart felt story that I read time and time again eagerly divulging myself into it. I wish I had more words to describe the mixture of emotions and satisfaction I had once everything concluded, but alas I do not. However, you as an author succeeded in every aspect that an author should shoot for when creating any sort of material. You captivated me, entertained, then left me with a conclusion that I believe should have been implemented in the game itself. |
SaarTalan chapter 15 . 5/27/2012 well.. shit. If you are right (even though its just specilation probably..) well... *shakes my head* all i have to say is that when i read that last paragraph, it felt like death was running its fingers down my spine (a sensation i have felt only one other time..wasn't pleasant) ah wells, ima read the rest... but i do love how the story is progressing! and your writing style . |
Psyche Sinclair chapter 15 . 5/26/2012 I should have started reading this long ago! I am thoroughly enjoying this, and hope to catch up and start on the sequel soon. :3 I love love love the idea of mage-children being sent to the Dalish and the Chasind. |
coribubbles chapter 15 . 2/25/2012 'not human turned dragon... but dragon turned human...' AMAZING! LOVE IT! BEYOND CREATIVE! UNBELIEVABLE! It was so perfect, i was almost convinced you took that from a real part of dragon age! |
WindSurfBabe chapter 1 . 2/8/2012 I found this gem after starting to read "With a Black Nightingale", and my, am I glad. I always liked Loghain's character - depite the bad decisions, the gruffness, the less-than-striking looks. Your depiction shows him like a man, in contrast to the boy Alistair is, and Muirnara is a touching mix of strength and vulnerability. Their story appeals to the desire of being protected and taken care of without being stifled or controlled that lies within us all, and is all the more realistic and enjoyable for it. Well done, and thank you for this excellent read. |
