It has been a long while since a fic has made me cry the way I did when reading this. You captured the utter despair and heartbreak, and the LOVE so well. Oh god. Merlin. Just merlin. So pure even until the end. I love the way he was trying to look out for Arthur even as he's burning. This breaks my heart. Completely. I love it.

Wow...just wow. I know I should be feeling for Arthur right now, but in all honesty I really like the idea of this being the beginning of him taking some horrible, painful downward spiral into guilt/grief induced darkness and madness from which he never recovers. I guess I just like angst and suffering. Fantastic story.

This was such a tearjerker, and so unfair to Merlin too. I hadn't heard the title song before and decided not to- instead, I imagined the story to "Sigh No More" by Mumford and Sons... Which proved to be a pretty powerful combo, as far as emotion goes (just listen to the last 50ish seconds of the song and the final paragraphs of this story).

Very sad and well written :( I thought up of a sequel of sorts where Arthur tries to make amends (down a very angsty road), but I hope you don't end it like this. It's just... Gah, feels so wrong.

Just ... Wow ! Personally, I love the way you write. It's very simple and poetic at the same time. You focus on details so it seems like a description, and at the same time you really higlight the characters' emotions. I just love the way you wrote bit by bit all the things that led to Merlin burning. And truthfully, the end was ... well, honestly, I was on the brink of tears but it was stunningly beautiful.

That is the saddest thing I've ever read. Thanks, I think I'll go slit my wrists now.
