LuiasyLover chapter 37 . 9/20 So, Mallow is the Mole?! AMAZING! HE WAS THE PERFECTO MOLE! I LOVE IT! As for Shy Guy winning, AWESOME! I really liked his character and how he developed. And Toadiko... well, I already had a feeling that Toadiko wouldn't win... You are sososososososo talented! If you write another Mole fanfic, or ANY fanfic in general, I would DEFINITELY read and review it! LuiasyLover P.S.: I'm developing a Mole fanfic of my own. When I finish it, I will tell ya! P.P.S.: This has been one of the BEST fanfics ever! |
Princess Toady chapter 37 . 9/13 No don't worry, I dodn't skip to the end. I wouldn't do that and I really liked seeing the returning players' entrances, it was a pretty good introduction to the reveals that are going to follow! As for the results, I had a feeling Shy Guy would possibly beat Toadiko due to the dossier, but either of them being the winner was cool in my book. I really enjoyed their stay in the competition and how they opened up to one another, made a coalition and ended fighting for the crown ! As for Mallow, I don't think you made him too obvious at all. Looking at some of the reviews back then, there were very few people on his trail, weren't there? Not to mention that initially, I did think it could have been Toadiko and then Timpani as well. I think that what actually made me look at Mallow a little closer was how...detached he seemed from the group. Like, it looked like the other players were evolving while he kinda stagnated and stayed in the background. Honestly, if you were to compare Toadiko's lines with Shy Guy's lines, you could see their motivation clearly. Doing the same with Mallow, though, his lines looked veryyyyyy generic. Yes, perhaps I am biased, but rereading my early reviews, I do mention that Mallow feels weird for me so that feels justified, somehow. It's like everyone is really struggling...and then there's Mallow. I think his passive attitude, not necessarily during the challenges, but in the overall competition, is actually glaringly obvious if you pay attention to contextual clues. You have Shuy Guy vying for exemptions because he's scared for his life, Toadiko who is increasingly confident in her Mole-hunting abilities, Mona who is extremely dedicated to the game with her note-taking, and Mallow who... Mallow who literally claims he's still unsure and doesn't know who it is and is scared of executions and stuff. Then I saw the potential acts of sabotage / clues (I could have hallucinated for the clues, let's be real there, for some of them I was pretty much reaching LOL) and tried to put myself in your shoes, or rather, in the players' shoes. Where could the Mole sabotage more efficiently ? Last but not least, I felt like he was one of the more constant saboteurs. Like, there was always something strange coming from Toadiko, but Timpani did nothing wrong the episode she left, Mona had a few eyebrow-raising moments but also some episodes that felt really barren in term of sabotage, and even Shy Guy himself had episodes where he seemed like a perfect contestant. I think I did notice one episode where Mallow didn't do much, but what clinched it for me was how sometimes his sabotage was cleverly obfuscated (like the challenge in the desert versus the bandits. The focus was mostly on Mona and Wolley being total failures, and the lookouts were also blamed a lot, yet Mallow was kinda skipped). He also sabotaged exactly where I thought he would, but that might be my experience as a Mole author at work there. So the reason why I detailed this is because you did think of making another Mole story a long time ago and I wanted you to know how I felt while reading your Mole. Overall I think Mallow was fairly well hidden, however as the episodes went by and he never was executed, there was this feeling of "why is this guy still here exactly ?". Mallow really didn't have much of a story in the grand scheme of things. Another thing which would have made it harder for me to determine he was the Mole was to havethe players mess up a little more. As I said, there were episodes where some of them did no sabotage whatsoever. Looking at them as potential saboteurs was fairly difficult afterwards as there was really no reason for the Mole not to do their task. And to conclude this review... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING BACK AND FINISHING YOUR STORY! :D You have no idea how happy I was when you said you had finished writing it ! There were other promising stories over the years that were abandoned by other authors, but you didn't give up and came back to finish what you started. I know most people wouldn't return. But you did! Last but not least... Congratulations for finishing this story! It's not totally over yet but now that the secret is out, it's smooth sailing! Really looking forward to the rest of this finale! |
Princess Toady chapter 36 . 8/30 What an epic finish to an epic story! I wasn't even sure they were going to succeed as there were a few close calls. It could have gone either way. Shy Guy better thank his lucky star that he wasn't eliminated by the M013's throw when he was distracted by a raindrop. Thank you for coming back and not abandoning it like a lot of Mole stories that have spanned in the past...what, ten years or so? My final answer for the Mole is Mallow. As for the winner, I could see it going either way. I am hoping that Toadiko will pull off a win, however Shy Guy has read the journal which evens out the playing field. Sorry this review is so short but I'm simply elated to know that next chapter, we'll finally know who the Mole is. |
LuiasyLover chapter 35 . 8/23 HELLO HELLO HELLO! I've been reading your Mole fic, and WOW! IT GETS BETTER AND BETTER EVERY CHAPTER! Here are my thoughts: 1. Missions: SO COOL! You make these missions so detailed it blows my mind. Especially this one! I even forgot this was a mission! 2. Players: A nice combination, indeed! It's nice to see their journey throughout the many locations and all the interactions. 3. The Mole: I HAVE NO CLUE! I suspected ALL of them in the start and I STILL suspect them! *explodes* So, I'm gonna say that the winner could be Shy Guy or Mallow, mainly for a line you wrote in Chapter 3, where you mentioned a game of poker (or something) where the Mole's next victim lost (Daisy), the Mole won a lot of money and the winner of the Mole won the game. I'm not sure if this is exact BUT since Shy Guy and Mallow were going to do the casino challenge in Mission 2, well... As for Toadiko, I don't like her to say the very least. I've noticed that out of the three of them, she has had the most amount of screentime. Clue or red herring? Can't wait to find out who's the Mole! LuiasyLover |
Toady chapter 35 . 8/17 Hey there! I don't have access to my computer and typing on my phone kinda sucks so excuse me if the review feels short. You had me in suspense the whole time, I actually thought Mallow had been dealt with by Anderson, but it turns out Toadiko was the first to bite the dust. It's nice how the players finally realize that all their starting locations had tools to help them. Though I am curious to know if there wasn't something else to the challenge since Anderson said he found them predictable. Maybe there was another place, other than their starting points, where they could take advantage of the robot's weakness. Now it seems like it's all up to Mallow... We'll see how he does without Toadiko's help! Thanks for the chapter and see you next time! I suppose next chapter is the last chapter of their adventure...and with it, the ultimate quiz. |
Princess Toady chapter 34 . 8/3 Wow, this chapter was just incredible. I wasn't sure what we were going to have as a final challenge since you were hyping it so much, but you blew away my expectations! Now Anderson Blooper's iconic cackling makes a lot more sense! The break after the Dossier mission felt like the calm before the storm. Once again, there's a clear rivalry between Shy Guy and Toadiko. Very tense, yet I thoroughly enjoyed reading this brief excerpt. Reminiscing about their adventure, I find it quite funny how Toadiko and Shy Guy are now (supposing Mallow is the Mole) rivals when they were one of the first few coalitions that sprouted over the course of the game. It really feels like a showdown between the two of them. Mallow's lines don't quite read the same, I'll need a good slap if he turns out not to be the Mole and you instead misdirected us with his innocence... But I can't have second thoughts now! Still, it's pretty tricky. Any of them could be the Mole at this point. I just have more stuff pointing to Mallow. As I read the beginning of their ultimate challenge, I did realize why you had them start at different locations during the last chapter. Good planning on your part! And, like I said earlier, this is such an epic showdown, so congratulations on such an original final challenge! When I saw that Anderson had tossed three Life Shrooms to the contestants, I was kind of shocked, lol. He's really looking for blood! We're slowly but surely nearing the end, and I'm wondering how Toadiko's hunch about Fiend's Burrow will impact the mission, if it ever does. Nevertheless, congratz on another well-written chapter! |
Princess Toady chapter 33 . 7/27 Shy Guy, again ?! Well, I suppose he does have the advantage over Toadiko and Mallow, I kind of expected him to get it, I'll admit. I wonder what's next...cause getting the Mole's Dossier with no repercussion whatsoever feels strange to me. Not to mention, this is supposedly a challenge... I wager it's worth some money, at the very least. As for Molehill Isle itself, it looks to be a very cool place. The trivia from Anderson and the general atmosphere certainly helped giving it this image of a living and untamed island. I also kind of enjoyed exploring the place alongside our three finalists. But now... What's going to happen? Is Shy Guy going to claim the dossier as his own? Is he the Mole? Is it Toadiko (there were a few sentences that were said by her that made me raise an eyebrow or two)? Or is it Mallow, my actual guess? Mmmmh... I can't exactly believe that it is the final challenge of this episode. Feels wayyyyyy too soon for that, especially since the dossier has already been found. There must be something else to it. Like a second part with a chase between Shy Guy and the other two, to determine whether he gets to keep the dossier or not. There has to be something else. As for your answer, yeah, there was a possibility for Mona to be part of the final 3 in my mind, however it did feel like it would be more interesting if it were our three smaller players, lol. |
Princess Toady chapter 32 . 7/19 Nice introdution chapter for episode eight, and you even managed to stuff a whole challenge in it. To b honest, it feels so strange to know that, in twenty four hours, the players lost Mona, will begin and finish an episode, which means several challenges AND the most important questionnaire of their career. I haven't smelled anything too suspicious in this challenge, that is fairly true. Though Toadiko certainly aced that one. I am still very confident in my Mallow guess for the Mole, but it looks like Toadiko has the best memory out of the last two genuine contestants, if I am correct... Could it spell her victory? Or is she the Mole, trying to look as genuine as she can? She has been a suspect of choice during this whole adventure. Flashback Fun is a pretty cool mission. It's just some questions about the players' past...with higher stakes. Much MUCH higher ones... Very enjoyable, which just goes to show that the simplest concept can be pretty effective! I'll admit though, I smiled at the fact that it was SHY GUY who responded about the penalty that befell the players who looked at their small box during that one train ride. Like, Anderson didn't even have time to properly start the countdown and he was already smashing that buzzer, LOL. Just goes to show that he quite liked his safety...which makes me wonder if he ever was saved by one of his exemptions... Thanks for the chapter, and see you next week! |
krisetchers chapter 31 . 7/14 Ahh yay! The execution chapter :D Nervous, but excited! Hehe I like how the Governer was all like, "Oh, knocked out? It's part of the game. Totally okay!" (Mona breathes sigh of relief) "You should still get the guards" (AHH RUNNN!) XD I was getting suspicious about Mona not wanting to escape via window thinking itd make too much noise. But 50% of me also thinks this was genuine struggle 40k?! That's a lot! Good job :D the max total can be right under 300k...so regardless if the Mole sabotages or not in the final episode (which they prob will), at least the players wont be like "Aww, we could have gotten 300k coins as a total" in the end either way haha Aww, Snifit's line was so philosophical and beautiful, "I'll forgive the actor who played the Mole". And even AWW! Mona bringing in the group hug :) that was a perfect end. I was actually touched! Oh snap...so fast, before I even expected it, the Execution! D: Welp, here goes...I have a feeling Shy Guy and Toadiko are safe. (Edit oh yeah, Shy Guy is exempted haha). Mallow and Mona...oh no, they're my predictions for out :( Either one, I'd be sad! ...IT'S MONA! Noooooo! A HUGE CRY Her personality definitely reminded me of myself in being an enthusiastic person :') so she had a special place. Dang, the final 3...I've always been for the last 3 episodes honed in on Toadiko as the Mole! Her genuine, soft, yet secretly strong personality is such a great character, and a Mole needs to be such! But Shy Guy has slowly been increasing in suspicion, due to do his increased involvement in things! And scattered sabotage :o Mallow...I dont think he's the Mole! But oh if he was...I'd be like "Dang not surprised xD he duped me and I suck at Mole hunting xD" Cant wait for the final episode :) |
Princess Toady chapter 31 . 7/13 Oh man, so this is our final three... This is what i expected, but still, it's pretty hard to see Mona go. She did take the game super seriously, even though she did not always look it. When she successfully managed to escape the tool shed thanks to Shy Guy, well, I had a feeling she was going home. Her performances were far from even throughout the game, she messed up a lot...but she was also responsible for so many victories that it would have felt weird for Toadiko to get executed at this point. Obviously, I consider that Mallow is the Mole. No clue who will win out of Shy Guy and Toadiko, even though my preferences are clear. All I'll say is, may the best Mole hunter win ! A thing I should note is that, well, the challenge went a little too smoothly for the players in my opinion, however I believe it is because the Mole was not put in a special position. Which, again, leaves Toadiko and Mallow as potential suspects to me. I feel like Mallow was pretty muh paralyzed, and Mona's abrupt change of plan certainly didn't help him. I still believe ShyGuy is innocent, most of his sabotage is due to him wishing to get exemptions. As for his contribution for the money loss this episode ? He suggested really dumb ideas to Mona during the Heist challenge and probably noticed where Shy Guy had fled and let him go. Honestly, I would be sooooo very surprised if he turned out to be the final victim, or even the winner of this show ! Looking forward to the next and final episode ! |
krisetchers chapter 30 . 7/6 Why was Shy Guy on the roof? Why did Mallow fetch for him?! I love these random elements! If they're meaningless and just for character, then they're totally funny xD If they're somehow related to any Mole tactics, then they're noteworthy, eh Haha! As soon as the host mentions they're gonna be assasins, everyone was like enthusiastic "Yay Whoooo!" Umm...I suppose they must be evil to have made it THAT far into the final four lmao Aww, Mallow always being humble about his Princely background! It makes me like him more and also his background makes him more important of a character I suppose Nice, so the plan's going pretty well...haha, yay Pianta waiter for inadvertedly helping the group's plan! Mallow sabotaged by being taken by Prince Peasley and being too polite of a guest...Shy Guy sabotaged by not letting Mona rush in right away... Ah, this mission is awesome! :D so actiony! I totally love the way you wrote it and described it! Kudos :) Okay, so now the fateful bottle has smashed...and the panic jas begun. I hope they all get out, but I'm predicting no :o Is the execution next? I suppose we will see |
krisetchers chapter 29 . 7/6 Oyyy! So it's so interesting because you have to take into consideration that everyone who failed didnt sabotage and everyone who didnt fail sabotage...well this only applies for the Runners haha. So Shy Guy sabotaged and Toadiko made a dramatic fall, poor her haha Mallow sabotaged by being too slow at one point! Hmm. So the guys surprisingly were the saboteurs thos challenge Love the artist clue at the dinner table! :D I totally missed that. I love little subtle clues for missions like that. Reminds me of the 751 sheep. Subtle enough but not too subtle I wonder how this episode will be:O I'm too glad however that Shy Guy is making it to the finals...too cool of character he is! |
Princess Toady chapter 30 . 7/5 I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. GIGALUL. Omg. The way you ended this chapter. Mona just casually hitting Skullinton with a bottle. This mission looks like an epic fail, but it was really awesome. I really love those types of infiltration challenges. It was fun to see them devise a strategy, even if it went out of the window super quickly. I think someone will probably get caught, either Toadiko or Shy Guy, but I have a feeling Toadiko is more likely. Mallow has his protection as a prince, though Mona did drop his name before the other attendees so... Who knows. I'm sorry for the short review this time, but I don't have much more to say. The dynamics are still interesting but I already spoke of them last review, and I just can't wait but see what's going to happen next, before our next and probably saddest execution of the game (well, Wolley going home was kind of a sad moment too lol). Still have a feeling that Mallow will have trouble escaping as well, since he's probably going to be heavily guarded due to being, well, a prince. |
Princess Toady chapter 29 . 6/28 Hey there! Well, I did tell you I would reread everything eventually, plus I apparently did not review the last few chapters you had written before the long hiatus, event hough I did remember Timpani's demise...somehow, lol. This challenge was very fun, once again, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It still confirms my suspicion that Mallow is the Mole though, as he has been absolutely no help whatsoever. Poor Mona was running like a maniac but he was always there to slow her down. Though he did actually manage to locate Toadiko and Shy Guy at one point, he made sure to let Shy Guy escape in my opinion. As for Shy Guy, I know he technically was responsible for the biggest amount of lost money this round, however I still find him the least suspicious out of all contestants. Okay, maybe Mona is even less suspicious than he is... But since he and Toadiko won ten thousand coins for the painting they chose, I have a feeling the Mole is neither of them. It would have been easy for the Mole to decide to pick a really unexpensive painting if they were in their group. Also, there's still the possibility that Mona tried to make it look like she was looking for him in the building when she actually wasn't? With her sense for detail, it's hard to believe she would miss an open window. Hmmm, I have a feeling episode eight will be wayyyy more dramatic as the remaining players try to play mind games with one another. I'm very afraid for Toadiko right now, since Shy Guy is safe and Mallow is my Mole, it would mean that it's her versus Mona, and we all know how good the hyperactive girl is when it comes to taking notes about the game. If the stress gets to Toadiko, she could very well be eliminated before the finale. I'll say though, it was super fun to see someone get an exemption in the final four. You don't see that everyday. |
Princess Toady chapter 24 . 6/26 Well, okay, perhaps the Mole didn't really manage to sabotage the previous challenge, but does it really matter, considering their winnings were once again taken by bandits? Perhaps this is the real challenge where the Mole will strike. Oh yeah, I do remember reading this challenge and thinking it was quite awesome! There's not much to say in the way of suspicions at the moment, however I did note that Mona won her part which is rather strange if she is the Mole. I would have expected her to lose against Daisy since she did so good during the interrogation and managed to make the Luma confess. |
