Just read this straight through and really enjoyed it. I thought the story flowed well and the characterization was on point. I guess you've moved on to other fandoms, but I think it would be a treat to read more of your Beckett and Castle.

A fantastic story! I really wish this is the way the show had gone, as I felt her taking a bullet only made her relationship with Castle drag on before they could finally get together. Instead of using the case to bring them together, it tore them apart for three months and it took an entire season and a near death experience for Beckett to com to her senses.

An AU where Montgomery isn't involved in Johanna's murder is always going to be a good starting point, and this didn't disappoint. I thought you caught Rick pretty well, and it's inevitable that it'd be Beckett heavy, but would've liked to see a touch more of him. Overall, excellent.

I even liked the dry humour of your author's notes :)

They actually do mention the Mayor by name. His name is Robert Weldon. It was first mentioned in Season 1, Episode 7

This was great. It makes a refreshing change to read content-rich fanfiction - something with a genuine plot. What do you think of all the developments at the end of the 3rd season and 4th? I was so blown away by Knockout - it was enthralling, as well as a brilliant episode in terms of pacing, drama, action, character, everything. I'm sorry they've dragged out the "remembering" secret, I hope they're planning to give equal if not more time to the "Mr. Smith" plot, if only in the 5th season. Anyway, this was great.

This was a great story.

The case itself was amazing. I was intrigued from the get go and enjoyed how Beckett, Castle and the others went about working it. What made it even better was the link to Kate's mother's murder. Did not see that coming.

When Castle was kidnapped, that's when Kate began to listen to her feelings especially after sharing a kiss with him the night before.

You also have to feel sorry for Rick. He lost who he thought was friend because of his involvement in what was being investigated.

I really liked seeing Agent Shaw in this story. She was a perfect choice to be part of this because of the FBI being involved and working with everyone from the 12th before.

Excellent job.
