Wow..just wow..amazing story
I am sad that you did not finish this

First of all, it's sad to see another fanfic with great potential go down like this. Nevertheless, I hope you are at least reading the reviews your work deserves. Because that really could have been an amazing story.
The way you introduced each character was more accurate than anything I've seen in a long time. Along with a logical plot and descriptive writing, it was easy to loose myself in this story completely.
However, this amazingness lasted only so long because it almost seems like someone else took over the story halfway through. Somewhere between Mathew finding Alfred and Gilbert's supposed death, there was a strange drop in your writing. In the early chapters, the reader is able to watch the characters act and figure out the meaning behind everything for themselves. But at some point, everything that Mathew and Alfred think, realise, remember, ponder entirely dominates the story. The plot is driven rather driven by the characters' thought process instead of cause and effect. This leaves the reader feeling like the happenings and their meaning is being shoved in their face because they couldn't possibly figure it out on their own. As a result, the plot feels rushed and the emotional bonds are forced, instead of developed. It would have been much nicer, had you invested more of your time describing the atmosphere, explaining WHY characters perceive each other a certain way and writing their dialogues.
Still, you obviously have talent for writing and it's always nice to see someone being invested in the rarer pairings of Hetalia.

Right. Where do I begin. *Sighs* To start off, this is one of the best, and possibly one of my most favorite WWII Hetalia fanfictions that I've ever read, right in line with George DeValier's Veraverse fics as well as a few miscellaneous others that I'm not going to mention by name because most of them are very long. Second of all, this is incredibly well put together and well constructed. I said something similar with another one of your fanfictions, but the character development in this is absolutely stellar and out of this world. You can obviously see the characters grow as people and change, and you can obviously see yourself grow more and more attached to them. Third of all, the storyline of this? Fucking incredible. One plot twist after another, one unexpected turn following after, this is a whirlwind of unexpected and insane twists in the plot, and that's a great thing. Most of the time, I can tell fairly well what's going to happen next, but this fic kept me in the dark most of the time. And that's good. I think that's all I really wanted to cover in this review. Honestly... please come back and update, if only to tell us if you aren't going to continue this fanfiction. It's been over 6 years, and I'd love for this to get the proper ending it deserves or at least get a little bit of closing confirmation. *puppy dog eyes* Please?

I think the other users have spoken out my thoughts BUT I'LL SAY IT ANYWAY. You got me shipping EngCan, HARD (Harder than Ludwig's abs xD), and oh, AmeGer, please. That means so much to me and to the rest of us still waiting here. I don't just easily ship like this AND YET YOU GOT ME TO DO SO. It's amazing, this story is amazing, you're amazing! You've made me cry, squeal, wail in agony in the middle of the night, and I'll prolly sacrifice a chicken just so you could continue this story. Yea, I prolly sound nuts, but... okay, I can't really say anything in defense. Just reconsider it? Updating?

This ... this is absolutely wonderful. The storyline is absolutely amazing, and to be honest, I love this. I read this entire work in one sitting, and I don't regret it at all. It's absolutely divine. Hoping (even though it's highly unlikely) for more!
