this is so so so cute! I love that Pam is the one to take the leap and tell Jim how she feels first, because I feel like it's almost always Jim that does that. Really well written and original, and can I just say how cute is Jim? The presents were absolutely perfect :) Now if only I could find a guy who'd buy me a whole cheesecake...

AHHH MTT is my main place I go for fanfiction but I check here too so it's nice to see that you are sharing your talents with more people. This is a really supurb example of your great skill as a writer. I love the way you thought of al these key little thoughtful things that Jim would do for Pam to celebrate in style because she is celebrating a big birthday. I think you were able to bring out the very essence of just who Jim Hapet is and just what Pam Beesly means to him. Then what you did is you gave Pam all the pieces, everything she neede to figure out where her life is headed and to be able to put it all together and ask herself some very hard questions. You didn't make Roy out to be a monster, you really made him what he was. A boyfriend who took an awful lot for granted, over time had become fairly neglectful, someone who truly didn't realize wht HE had or the fact that there were others out there that truly wanted what he had and would treat her with the respect and care she deserved. Roy is someone who just didn't see the value in taking time to really get to know Pam, grown up Pam in particular, so when it came time for nice gifts, he didn't have a clue wat kind of flowers or what type of gift SHE would like vs just what he would get for her just to have it done so instead he decides to give her an expensive giftcard (which didn't even total all Jim's gifts combined anyhow) and have her pick pt her own gift which simply left her feeling hollow and unsettled inside which led to a whole lot of revelations for her.

I think the thing that made this story especially endearing is he way it came full circle with the fact that she, too, had gone overboard for his birthday. She heard his tell that story about that sweater and all she cared about was making him that for his birthday and I have a feeling that somewhere inside she knew just WHY she wanted to make him that, I don't think many people would put in that type of effort for someone they only saw as a best friend. Of course, come his birthday I think even though she wasn't ready to admit it, I think she probably knew somewhere deep inside exacly why she had gone to all that work yet went out and bought him a simple DVD. I think giving him the sweater and telling him the story was the perfect way to reveal her feelings and it shows just how deeply they care for each other and that they are off to the start of an amazing relationship. I love how she couldn't make herself stay and wtch him read the card and I lve how he had to keep reading it to convince himself it was really true.

VB YOU are a truly amazing author and I just love anything that you put out there! Everyone should read everything that you write! I know I do and I am always waiting for the awesome CC updates! Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us, especially those of us tat have never put themselves out there. (Maybe someday...)
