nonantum chapter 1 . 1/3 This is very adult, slowly growing comfort between two people who don't yet know they are already in love. Reminds me of the best Spenser - Susan Silverman dialogue from Robert Parker. As always, watch out for homonyms. |
typroctor-ewaguy chapter 1 . 8/22/2019 This was an interesting take on "Personal". The conversation about what could have happened had Vacar shot Kensi and taken her prisoner. I can see with your writing that Kensi a couple of times had tears in her eyes that she hid from Deeks. Kensi's thoughts on her dates that ended up with sex and how disappointed she felt every time. This was wonderful gf7. You're the best. |
Biank Radcliffe chapter 1 . 10/28/2013 This was amazing and the character felt so real in your words. Loved it! |
bookish327 chapter 1 . 6/25/2013 Very, very well-written and excellent characterization! Great fic! :-) |
DeniseCecilia chapter 1 . 2/26/2013 Like the previous time with Deep, I loved the perfectly balanced mixture of different shades of jokes and scaring views on intimate thoughts of both. Never too tight nor too easy their keeping in contact with each other. There would be so much more to add, but I don't have the words for that - you did have the right words, and I enjoyed them. |
88Mary88 chapter 1 . 1/2/2013 Another amazing one shot. Their teasing and banter mixed with underlying deeper emotions is just... sigh. Fantastic. I especially liked the hint at Kensi's past. I'm slightly annoyed by the writers because we never get a guest star that has connections to Kensi's past. In the last 3-something years people reappeared from Callen's, Sam's and Deeks' past, but never Kensi's (or did I miss someone?)! So, I simply loved that you hinted at a darker past, considering her complicated and complex character something must be off (even a murdered father or a mysterious fiance explain just that much). Loved it! |
F Maurice chapter 1 . 12/24/2012 Really good and sweet. |
ZBBZL chapter 1 . 7/4/2012 Problem with you is that you capture them so well, my brain goes off the grid and I can't say something intelligent about it. Simply cannot. It's amazing that thing you do, completely making me see it like it really happened in some behind-the-scene in the show. It sounds just so right in my head I feel like it really happened, their banter so perfectly well-rounded, the care behind it. Everything. "Yeah, his partner is a crazy and violent woman. She's kind of awesome that way, he thinks." And those lines had me...I don't know, smiling, laughing, aweing, dunno. And this, too. "She briefly considers again stonewalling and asking him what he's talking about, but really, what's the point? They'll just inevitably – after a bit more banter – cycle back around to it again anyway. She sighs. "You were right." "I like the sound of that," he tells her as he adjusts himself in the bed. He's just about done with lying completely on his back; he's more of a side kind of guy. "Shut up a second, would you, please?" There's a hint of exasperation in her voice, but it's gentle and not yet irritation. Funny, he thinks, how well he's learned her levels of annoyance. "Not really a strong suit of mine to be honest," he shrugs. "I know. God, I know." Made me think of The Job, too, with the babbling and rambling guy. But mostly, loved that little line (and others referring to) about Deeks knowing when she's exasperated, or just amused, pretending. "That she's a beautiful woman is news to no one – especially not himself. That there are moments when she looks something more than stunning, usually when she's just a little bit upset, but trying to push through it – well that is a surprise. Right now, she's smiling, but he can see so much pained emotion beneath the mask she's thrown on. She might be amused with him, but it's still a cover for whatever she can't stop thinking about. And yet, even seeing her with conflicting emotions written all across her face, he thinks that maybe she's never looked more amazing." Yeah, here, I was totally smiling through welling eyes. It only morphed into real tears there. "And to her surprise, her partner – the constantly insufferable Marty Deeks – is a big, big reason for why she looks forward to the start of every workday. Because when she's around him – and dammit if she doesn't hate to admit this, even to herself – she doesn't feel nearly as lonely. None of which she can find a way to make him understand. Not that she's completely sure she wants him to anyway." I mean, isn't that the tragedy of her life ? Being unable, not wanting to say those things that still, she feels and can't help but feel ? And there's always some beauty in tragedy. "We stopped them, though," Deeks says quickly because he suddenly realizes that even though he'd wondered what it'd be like to see Kensi cry, he doesn't actually ever want to see it. "I shot Vakar, and you handled the other two. You and me, Kensi, we're a team, and we took them out. We rocked their worlds and kicked their asses. Like we always do. You and me. Me and you." Baha, I gave up on trying to write an intelligent review so I'm just gonna let you guess what those lines were. Fantastic ? Anazing ? Deep ? Very true ? Authentic ? Or all of the above ? |
AliyahNCIS chapter 1 . 6/19/2012 Fabulous. Really loved this. K&D in the early days is still fascinating, loved the glimpse inside Kensi Blye's armour. Great job! |
kath46 chapter 1 . 6/15/2012 lots of insight in this story. thank you |
sdia75 chapter 1 . 2/25/2012 Brilliant piece. I loved this episode 'Personal' and I just rewatched 'Black Widow' today. This was a really good follow up to 'Personal'. I loved last week's episode. Can't wait for the 2nd part. |
Fictionista 48 chapter 1 . 8/11/2011 I needed a break from my own writing, and knew you had a few left I haven't read. You never fail to amaze me with how perfect you keep them, and how deep and insightful these stories of yours are. Thanks for the perfect distraction. |
Stormchilde chapter 1 . 7/27/2011 Fantastic look at the way Marty’s mind works! |
always-the-tone-of-surprise chapter 1 . 5/5/2011 Wow! You cease to surprise me! I'm so anxious for chapter 14 of Deep, so I decided to read some of your other Kensi/Deeks fics. Now I already know you are an amazing author, but this story is so different from Deep and you surprised me yet again with how well you executed the story. You are one of my favorite fanfiction authors because you are creative and objective at the same time which is what any real author needs. I love how unpredictable your plot lines are, yet they always fit the story seemlessly. Lastly, you are on the few authors who portrays the characters correctly and consistantly, which is a hard task. I always love reading your stories and I can't wait to see more! -Muffy |
Jena chapter 1 . 3/9/2011 Finally, got to read this and I think you did a fantastic job characterizing both of them. |
