Bleedin' heck, that was great. Poor Moritz. I absolutely love that last line: " se there was nothing else to do. There was nothing else there in the now pitch-black night besides three bodies, two souls, and a few desperate words.", it was very poetic and brought a tear to my eye. Very well done.

When you mentioned this idea, I figured that Melchi would find him hours after he had died, but I'm both very sad and very glad that I was wrong, because this is perfect.

This was beautifully sad, and also kind of reminiscent of the Master's death... intentional? The whole "Moritz dying in his friend's arms while Melchior yelled at him to wake up" thing.

Either way, this is perfect Melchiangst!

ouch. this was - in a word - fantastic. it's pretty much how i pictured the immediate aftermath of moritz's death, though i never imagined melchior being who ilse ran to. still, this was heart-wrenching and sad and very, very good. xx
