I always found the "The colonies revel" a little stupi. I mean its not like Earth countries are full of independence movements today, are a lot of USA states trying to separete from the federal goverment, are parts of the british comonwealth ceceding? Are provinces from Brasil or Argentina trying to create their own countries? The answer is no.
One of the few places were it made sense was Halo, because only the most distant colonies wanted to rebel and that was after years of abuse and neglect from the central goverment

Out of deep curiosity, 1 why aren't the humans raging over the Genophage, and 2 how did the reapers ion cannons cut through that patrol so easily?

For the Krogan I don't really see any human not being angry over that kind of cruel quiet genocide but it'd make a poor challenge to have an enemy who's numbers were that entirely static. Genetic engineering is somthing humans were well capable of in the game and AI's would only make this easier, so this would be an awesome way of making allies and setting up wargames with the militarized OSS's,

For the reaper, your humans are specced for High Energy weapons, reaper and collector main cannons shouldn't cut through them anywhere near that easy. capable of defeating the patrol singlehandedly? sure. Doing it that fast? I find myself deeply skeptical. Even soverines thanix cannons, though they could do that, are too slow for that kind of assult. Ion cannons move at 2/3 the speed of light, mass accelerators move at 5% the speed of light, thanix streams move at a few hundred mph. Good for close ship battles or heavy bombardment, but not before we can escape deathray.
