So sad. The poor 9th Doctor is defined by everything the 8th Doctor had to do. I like this story.

Wow. That was powerful. We don't really learn many actual details of the Time War from the show, but you've brought the mentioned ones together here in a story that may not be exactly cohereant (since, that's sort of the point, isn't it?), but leaves me thinking: it could have happned that way.

I'm sorry to see the 8th Doctor go so soon in the story, in the fist lines even, but I realize he wouldn't be the innocent, smiling, lovely 8th Doctor newly regenerated and finally regaining his memory that I know and love, but he'd be someone else. Someone probably dead on the inside before his body finally gave out.

Amazing. I find it hard to write convincingly about the Time War, but this was so beautiful.
