As charming and sexy as this story is, I disagree with you about Mr. Woodcourt. I understand that you had to "get him out of the way" so that Esther could fall in love with Mr. Jarndyce, but you're doing his character an injustice. He is not "inconstant". He never stopped loving her. The only reason he didn't tell her earlier was because he couldn't afford to marry - unlike Richard, he actually cares about his future family's comfort.
Sorry for that rant. I tend to go overboard when it comes to underrated characters or pairings. Still liked your story, though.

I love this. I can hear Michael's and Clare's voices in my head as I read.

I always thought Esther and Jarndyce were suited and that she could have come to love him. Good fic. :)

I just adore this-so very sexy and romantic at the same time. I have not seen the television production, but the radio version has such beautiful interactions between Esther and Mr. Jarndyce (played by Michael Kitchen, an actor to whom I am greatly attracted) that I was very happy to have this extension of their coupledom to read!

I was so happy to find this fan fiction! You wrote the characters very true to the BBC movie - his self-deprecation, his worry that she would find him wanting, her innocence yet curiosity. And you did an excellent job at portraying an erotic encounter without turning it into smut. Well done!

Wow! It's been a while since I've seen 'Bleak House.' But this brought me flying back to the beautiful Mr. Jardyce and his love for Ester. I was heartbroken for him in the series. I quite like this version of a happy ending for him. Very *fans self* passionate and so fantatically written. Thanks you for sharing. Brilliant work.

Holy crap on a cracker that was HOT! And so so sweet, I loved it. This is how things should have gone for Esther and poor sweet Jarndyce. I love this pairing, and though its been a little while since I watched the series, I loved reading this. Well done!
