Holy shit. How the heck did you make everything so confusing the whole time and then suddenly EVERYTHING makes sense after the ending line? And even when it was so confusing, you managed to make it intriguing enough that I couldn't stop reading even though I kept thinking 'what's the point of this?'

Very interesting take on Mary's relationship with her family. No one really stops to consider how Riff and Cain's relationship affects her when they're all she has and she's the odd one out. Good read.

Ahh I liked this a lot! I've always been a fan of the idea of Mary knowing more than she lets on and this handled that beautifully. The contrast between the early passages with the doll and the gentle moments shared between Riff and Cain was so very well done. And the end, while not unexpected, really was perfect.

In short, I loved your Mary and I would love to see more from you.

I first read this fanfiction on a Count Cain LJ comm I can't remember the name of, and it's really, totaly fabulous. The story is utterly beautiful and sad, and it's a part of Merryweather's story that's very interesting.

This fandom, as great as it may be, lacks of those great, well written fanfictions.

Thank you for this one, really, I loved it.
