Legion29 chapter 25 . 3/15 You ever gonna continue a new era? |
kabal1337 chapter 26 . 11/24/2019 TL;DR Fantastic story for any fan of the original film, just please don't read the epilogue At the time of writing this review, I watched the Secret of Nimh just earlier in the day and, after falling in love with the movie, went searching for any quality fan material. Thankfully, this was one of the first that I stumbled upon. Brilliant. While some of the writing could be a little rough at times, the story, characters, and dialog on the other hand? Just about perfect. While I have not seen the second film for myself, I have no doubts whatsoever that the story in this fanfic would've served as a more fitting sequel than the official one. There is not a single line of dialog spoken that I couldn't imagine the characters from the film saying, and the original characters are all excellently written. I would easily, easily recommend this to any fan of the original film who wants a satisfying continuation with the characters they love. ...Until the epilogue, that is. SPOILER WARNING from here on out. I don't dislike melancholy endings, and I would have been perfectly fine with Brisby dying at the end as long as it felt necessary for the story. However, having her die of a plague that comes from nowhere feels like darkness for darkness's sake. The manner of her death, and especially the implication of Timothy succumbing as well just feels mean-spirited and not at all in line with the dark-yet-hopeful spirit of the original film, as most of the story had managed to keep in line with. The story can be enjoyed to it's fullest extent, and I would argue even more, without reading the epilogue. |
Grey Shoma chapter 26 . 4/8/2017 Loved this story, was not prepared for the emotional gut punch at the end there, regardless I'd like to thank you so much for posting this story. Wishing You Wellness In Health, And The Best of Luck In All Of Your Endeavors. |

TurquaTortle chapter 26 . 2/12/2015 I just read through ALL of this, and in my opinion: THIS FANFIC ALONE PUTS THE SECOND MOVIE TO SHAME! Honestly, the plot was so brilliant; keeping our favorite as one of the protagonists and not a minor/background character, giving each and every one of the characters a fair amount of screentime -not hogging the entire story to themselves-, NONE of the characters in the movie seem even the slightest bit OOC, and your OC's have great character development and they just fit in with the characters so well instead of sticking out like characters that don't belong… You should've directed the sequel! |
Guest chapter 26 . 7/23/2013 To Erik Mouse calm down man it's just a story. It is kind of sad but it is pretty well written. To OrganMan I enjoyed this story personally but I would change two things if I were you. First off I think Mrs. Brisby should have fought Nicolas at the end that would have been a cool duel scene. Secondly I thought the ending was too sad. What if it ended with Mrs. Brisby at an old age telling the story to her grandchildren that would have been pretty good. Anyway good story. |
ZabuzasGirl chapter 1 . 6/6/2013 Update immediately, please! |
