I love the repetition and insight on Mikoto~ My favorite part was, "And she didn't care whose plans won. Either way, she was dead. Itachi would kill her, leave her pale and lifeless in a pool of her own ill-begotten blood, sick with the smell of death and pain, or her husband would kill her."

The scene with Itachi at the end was really well done too ;D

Wow. I actually need to catch my breath.

So. Very nice, very powerful. Even if you don't know where it came from, this is excellent. Mikoto is a character that is generally left alone, so I usually don't see much about her. This story, however, sort of creates a whole character for her, all in a few lines, and it does it magnificently. I particularly like the scene with Itachi, the pretending not to know even though she's not fooling anyone, so she can just end it. You know, I just saw the directions below that are telling me to offer tips for improvement. I'm wracking my brain, but I can't think of any need for improvement in anything! All in all, a wonderful piece of work.

I hope your happy, you made me cry. It started off amazingly and the middle made my eyes water, I have to say I enjoyed reading this. I like the fact that Sasuke could see right through her as children often can.

Out of everyone, I always got the feeling Mikoto always knew.

Anyway, though it has such a dark undertone it's a really nice one-shot. (Though I think it's more between Mikoto and Itachi than Sasuke and Itachi.)

It's interesting, because the idea is so cool while not such a stretch from the possible truth. There's always something to be said about motherly instinct and I think Mikoto - who I have a hard time believing was actually involved in, and okay with, planning a coup - is very much that motherly figure. She's also clever enough to make things easy for herself and her sons. (Cuz that's really what it comes down to, doesn't it? A mother always does what she can to protect her babies.) So good writting there!

Her scene with Itachi was bittersweet but it was my favorite part. I'm under the impression that, while killing his brother was impossible, killing his mother was the most difficult for Itachi to carry out. I think you expressed that idea very well.

I actually really liked this; even though you have no idea where it came from, it's makes perfect sense. She could've known all that and done nothing about it. Great work with your writing and structure. It's not often I have the pleasure of reading such great work on this site. :) Keep writing!
