So any plans to involve the rest of the gang at some point? Like an investigation taking Sherlock and Watson...err I mean Naoto and Souji to Inaba or whatever city Rise happens to be doing idol things in at a given time?

Hmmm...Souji adjusted well when it comes to the Assistant facade, nothing like being thrown into the situation and learning on the job.

*shakes head* Honestly Souji...but lol his admittance to not having formal teachers lend credit to the former delinquent youth aura he tends to give to people. Our big boy needs to step up his game. Hope once the supernatural crawls in he gets his groove on.

Understandable since they're both still adjusting, Souji most especially since it's been awhile and he hasn't felt like he had a purpose for so long that he desperately cling to any sign Naoto needs him.

Nice to see this story again from the Pre-P4 the animation era.

I’m really liking this story more and more. Especially Naoto’s detective skills. Really want to see Naoto’s and Souji’s interactions later down the line. I don’t think Souji's going to like being a guard dog forever.

Gotta say, I really enjoyed reading what you've got so far. It's been a while since it's been updated but I thought I'd chime in anyway.
Love the fact that protag's life isn't going as smoothly as he'd hoped/was expected of him. Not everything goes as one anticipates. That's real.
Naoto is great as well. It's great to see her thoroughly enjoy doing her job. Tons of confidence/intelligence while at the same time there are still issues that are being worked out. That's a also real. Knowing what the issues are doesn't mean they're instantaneously fixed. I think there's a good balance here.
In any case, I want to thank you for sharing what you did. If you ever get the time/desire to share more, I'd love to read more of this.

I am ripping my hair out because of how good this story is every time I read it but it hasn't been updated in 3 years. This story needs an update so bad. Hopefully all the persona goodness coming out might make you come back.

It's always a really melancholy feeling when you find a story that absolutely grabs you and then you see how many years it's been since it's last updated.

I don't know the details obviously, but looking at how much was done in less than a month I'm pretty amazed. Crazy work ethic?

Ohwell, regardless, it's truly one of the most interesting and unique stories I've seen for this pairing. The setup is so cruel I wasn't even sure if I could stand it going in, but damn if you didn't sell it well, I was cringing all my way through their initial meeting, and then of course, watching things slowly evolve from there.

The little touches too, things like Naoto's blood nose, loved it.

At a guess I'll assume you probably originally had quite a large story planned out, a big mystery or more, possibly too unwieldy, or just not enough time?

Either way, what's here is a great story and I'm going to follow/favourite it in the hopes that one day you'll come back and finish it!

This is so good, honestly..are you ever going to finish this story? Because it would be a shame otherwise! Mysteries unsolved, and so on.
