I've seen some really badly-done crossovers in my time - bad in the sense that the two universes were impossible to mesh plausibly, which always sets my teeth on edge. But you've taken two fictional universes that couldn't be any more dissimilar and found a way to merge them into a story that's not only plausible, but fun and interesting. Bravo.

imho Firefly is notoriously hard to write for (as the mostly abominable stories here on FF attest to), I think you're doing rather nicely.
