I was confused because I didn't know at what point of the series (or a different universe altogether) was this story set in. I wish you had put a note at the start that it's set in season 1. Anyway, thanks for the read!

Another good fic. ) I agree that seeing any celebration as a citizen would almost have to be more entertaining that watching it as a judge - I know for a fact, from when I was part of the Marching Band in HS, that the /fun/ part of the parade wasn't the competition area, but the rest of the trip. _
