The anime should've ended this way

I'll admit, Misa has never been one of my favorite characters, but I love what you did here with both her and L.

This is one of the best L x Misa fics I’ve read so far! You did an excellent job of showing alternate events (what *should* have happened) while also keeping everyone in character, and having L and Misa being sweet with hints of romance without being OOC. It was exactly everything I wanted and needed after the anime! Thank you for writing this so well and putting time and effort in to make it right. _ I loved it!

I loved reading this; this is how I wished the series had ended. Haha. I wish Rem had considered her options before killing L to keep Misa alive - it would have been such a plot twist for Light! I love how you had the first few chapters focus on the closure of how the story ended alternatively, and the latter few were about the recovery progress. I also loved the little bit of Rem reluctantly putting her death note down - it was a nice final mention of her.

I wrote my lame attempt at characters choosing other paths. I wanted L, Rem and Misa to be happy but I just couldn’t see happiness for Misa. Mine ended up being dark, tragic, ooc and maybe even manipulative.

I'm surprised I didn't find this sooner. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. Yours fits the story and is in character. They live and it’s beautiful. Yours is now the new ending. 8 years since I found Death Note, I finally found the perfect ending. XD

Another author of a fic (that attempted to do this too) dropped the ball in the end said, L choose to die, she wanted to save him but he didn’t want to be saved. I was like What!? L has a wonderful mind and if given the chance, he would’ve spun a web exactly like what you wrote. :’)

I adore the line, “This was Ryuzaki, and where he was involved, she felt nothing was impossible.”

Darn! This was really good. It explained the whole LxMisa relationship well without being OOC. I love the plan & the plot Rem and L did. I wish this happened instead in the anime.

i never used to ship Lawmane, but ever since i finished L Change the World I started to ship them so hard! this fanfic is so good, if only misa and L moments were longer...

Beautifully written. I found no typos and the whole plot itself was just wonderfully thought out. You spoil me with 7 chapters. Definitely worth a read and I shall certainly be reading 'A Midas Touch' (the follow up event) after this. Thank you so much for such a delightful read. You really got the character's personalities down too, it was like I could hear Light's and L's voices when I was reading their scripts. You changed Misa's personality though, to be more determined and on ball rather than stupid, but I actually really enjoyed this change. It made her more impressive and suited to L. Another thing I enjoyed was how you stuck to action and a story line (off course to the actual manga) at the beginning (which was cleverly thought out, it was like L actually planned it out) and then the aftermath of this blossomed into a sweet small romance between L and Misa. This wasn't a superficial short story of how 'Misa decided that actually she preferred L to Light, they kiss and the end.' but rather there is just a splash of ambiguous romance at the end that leaves the reader with the ability of what happens after that hand-in-hand walk and the exchange of contact numbers. Ooh the idea gives me shivers. I love it. Thanks!

This was probably the best alternate ending story I've ever read. You pulled it off while being true to the characters. I have to say that this last chapter melted my heart. 3
