this is bittersweet

Wow. This is the best characterisation of Draco that I have ever read. You’ve made him so much more than the snarky, sexy icon that is perpetuated by fanfiction, given him more depth and mundane realism. I’m hugely impressed. Loved the line, “He'd always held the faintest suspicion that, secretly, he was bad at being terrible…” Hermione’s characterisation is good as well, though I’m not sure what happened to make her that way. I also like the characterisation of the other characters. Everyone feels like they’re existing in “real life” in this piece and that they have their own stories that aren’t told in this one. The only thing I’m really kind of lost on is the plot. Maybe it’s just because I’m exhausted, but I don’t really see the point of the story. The piece feels like it’s leading up to something, but it ends without reaching that something. I hate it when people say things like that to me, but that really is what I feel like. Other than that qualm about the plot, though, I’m in awe. Bravo! Thank you for sharing this!

Definitely very different from most that I've read.

You capture perfectly a quiet desperation in Hermione and in everyone else in the story, and I love that you approached the characters with a different angle - not quite angst, but emptiness. It is also interesting how subtle Hermione and Draco's relationship is in the story; although they barely talk, she opens up to him in a way she doesn't seem to with anyone else, and he seems to understand her. Their relationship isn't passionate, but it perfectly fits the tone of the story.

I love especially how compact the dialogue is. The conversations are short, but speak volumes. Truly an amazing piece of writing.

Well.. I liked it. It's different, and I was hoping for a happier ending, but I liked it this way too. Hm.. How about another chapter? With the happy ending I was hoping for?.

Totally baffled me. The story, I mean. I've been looking for a story like this since I read Sleepwalking by attica. Love the melancholy and the lack of actual drama in a sense. Basically, wanted to add this to my favorites but then I felt guilty not reviewing, so, yea.

Yet another fabulous story. I think I like your stories so much because they're short and concise yet very deep. Most fanfiction I read, though long, seems to be just thrown together and almost a little thoughtless. Also I have never come across a story that I liked in present tense until I read your writing. Good job!

I like how Hermione isn't perfect, and her life isn't as wonderful because she choose to be with the person she is expected to be with.

Wow. Also, ouch. People are not supposed to feel like this until they're my age. The phrase "parts of it curling downward like little moues of unhappiness" was probably my favorite out of a long list of well-turned phrases. Great story.

I love the way you write. It's beautiful.

The story is just as lovely, realistic and nothing all that cheesy.
