This is heart warming and melancholic at the same time. Not bittersweet. Just is.

This version of ANBU!Naruto felt perfectly fit like a glove. Naruto does have a sober side, doesn't he? And I believe he really joined ANBU in some part of his life before becoming Hokage. (Hokage needs to know his military work closely, afterall. Kakashi and Minato did join ANBU.)

Well, I really want to know more about this verse. I think it's time for him to apply his stealth. With what happened to Hokage Mountain when he wore orange (and I do believe he evaded ANBU successfuly at that point), I'm curious at what will happen if he wears black.

This was beautiful. Not only did I like your pre-Naruto canon aspect, but the explanation and the emotion at the end was lovely.

This short story is really sadly sweet. It's absolutely beautiful the way you wrote these broken people and the broken beautiful relationship as family they have.

It made me cry. (It's interesting that the mark of a good story is one that brings me to tears, but it is what it is.)

It's just so echanting. I love that image you carefully wove into being of Naruto sleeping in the shadows with the guard dogs. The elite killers and him, only they're not just murders. And I am no where near saying it right but the sound of this story just rang in my head and it's melody that's bringing back old tunes until I am him, deep in the darkness of covers. And I think of my childhood, and I think of his.

I just love this story. It's so expressive, in such a beautifully short way. It says just exactly what it needs to say, and leaves nothing that could make this better, out.

So, I just, I just really do love this. Thank you for writing it, that I got a chance to see it.
