This was very well written and I love it, but it was so tragically sad. So bittersweet.

Its not often that I'm determined to sit down and read a story with another tab open to the relevant parts of the canon, but your Heroes fics have intrigued me so much that I found myself doing just that. Luckily, the episode guides are pretty detailed, so after reading some character bios and a bit of the 'real' plot, it wasn't that hard to follow the strands of all these alternate universes. (Good grief is Heroes mythology complex - I don't think I would've been able to keep up, even if I had watched the show first run!)

Anyway, all that said - I really, really like this. I was already drawn the Sylar/Elle from your 'Grave New World', and of course badass!Claire is the ultimate badass here. Knowing that she loved Peter in another dimension of this universe makes her hatred for him really feel visceral here, and her determination to catch and kill him by any means necessary, even if it means throwing a wary colleague under the bus for it? Brilliant.

It felt like Elle just kept coming so close to her line, of what would make her content and happy (having her son, being with Gabriel) only to have it snatched out from under her at the very last moment. It was interesting to watch these two headstrong women go against each other, and who would ultimately win. The way it ties back into the episode is really brilliant as well, like this is the flipside of the coin.
