I have a Golden Retriever and I didn't know that that Golden Labs are now supposed to be Yellow Labs

This was a really good story and very sweet :) I don't know if anyone's pointed it out there, but the only fault I found was that you referred to Marley and Me, but this story takes place when Sam is 14, meaning it's the 90's and Marley and Me was published in 2005 and made into a movie after that, so there was no way for them to know about it. Besides that though, it was a great story, just that one detail x]

I loved this story. Well written and everything, had oodles of family fluff (which I love) and everyone seemed in character.

The only problem I have (and I know it's fiction so bear with my picky-ness here) is not with the writing or anything like that, but with the dog thing. Most of the time, barring special circumstances, you have to be sixteen to get a service dog, and even then you have to wait 12-18 months to find out if you're even qualified. It's kind of a big deal, and I think that should have been done more justice. But great story nonetheless.

Golden sounds so much better than yellow for a labrador.

I kind of like this AU. The ghost-witch's last curse might spare Sam from having to go to the fights at COld Oak and give Bobby Singer a much needed understudy as a lore-scholar.

I do not know how I missed this story but I am glad I found it. You gat to know by now that I love all your dog story. This one is at the top. Please keep up the great work.

Aww, the dog at the end was a super cute gift! At least Sam will have his brother, father, and now dog looking out for him. Great story!

Why are a good portion of your stories depressingly sweet with happy ending? And why do I torture myself by reading them...I know why, because they're awesome. No matter how much you make me want to cry half the time. I love Parker by the way. What a smart puppy. Ever considered doing a sequel for this lovely story arc. I would love to read some drabbles about the antics Sam and Parker put Dean, John, and Bobby through. I can totally picture this scenario with Pastor Jim watching happily from the sidelines. Good luck and keep up the great work!

What a wonderful story; full of angst, bit of humor, and 100% family. What I loved the most was the fear Sammy had that he was going to be left behind with just "a dog" and to have that turned around and have Parker not only be Sammy's guide dog but also a protector. It seems that Parker already knows that he has an important roll to play in Sam's life. Not only as his guide dog, but more for bringing Sam's sense of self back.

I hope you decide to keep going with this little gem. I love the idea of a permanently blind Sam, but I'm starting to love Parker.

That's pretty creative, a witch ghost taking Sam's sight with her. I really thought you were going to heal his sight, but getting him a dog, yeah, that works too.
