I’m sorry but as much as you want to make dumbledore sympathetic he’s a monster to leave the child he allegedly loved there. Didn’t the child suffer enough without his parents?

Specially when he could have simply popped in and layer down the law. Nothing like a month inside a cupboard in the form of pigs to teach fuckers how to behave to children.

If dumbledore cared so much, why not adopt him himself. And if he can’t be bothered with the burden? Then don’t hide behind the I cared so much for you bs. I wouldn’t want to just have to adopt some kid either. I get it. But then I wouldn’t claim to care for him and be doing ‘what was best’.

I like that you’re adding a real persona to dumbledore but I’m pretty sure you’re not trying to create a callous self deluded fool who thinks he isn’t callous. Yet that’s exactly what you’re portraying regardless of your intentions. (It’s still a bit better than JKR’s either completely clinically insane or completely evil dumbledore which she accidentally ended up writing. Most evil people don’t twirl moustaches and plan to take over the world, incidentally)

I’m moderately curious to see if you’ll continue with self delusions or if he becomes a decent person, So I’ll read a bit more but Im starting to guess this story isn’t for me, which is a pity since you’re a good writer. Your portrayal of emotions is spot on, and the few reviews I had read gave me really high expectations this would be a story with a good, sane dumbledore.

I just finished reading this. And I cannot say how much this means to me! I can't thank you enough for actually doing this for like seven years, even though, as you said, you've had other things to do with your life. I admire you so much because you kept doing this no matter what and it's totally amazing! You gave me life, cured my depression and solved most of my problems:)))) I was so very very happy and excited to find someone who shared my view regarding Dumbledore! Just like you said you did, I also saw people on the internet say how bad and manipulative he was. And just like you did, I refused to believe that. Yes, he certainly wasn't perfect, but he surely regreted things, as we saw at the end of the 5th and 7th books (some of my favourite moments). When I saw this, I couldn't believe there was someone who, just like me, thought there was more to it and loved the relationship between Harry and Albus Dumbledore. You captured the essence so well and you portrayed everything like I thought Dumbledore would think it. This masterpiece, for it definitelly is, is going to be one of the best things I have ever read. And I also can't believe how similar we are that you also don't really consider Cursed Child cannon, even though you appreciate some moments, exactly like me! And these things you have added by yourself fit so well! Everything is a balm to me. I cannot thank you enough for this. And you are actually continuing to write! I respect you enormously and I send you all the love and good in the world! I wish I knew some social media account of yours. THANK YOU!

I really loved how you rewrote some scenes (speaking of Goblet after the resurrection), utterly amazing, I had tears in my eyes.

I must admit though that at times, it was a reread of DH but I think you made more than up with your final chapters with Dumbledore on the other side.

Overall, fantastic story. I shall read your others :)

Hi, I’ve been wanting to write something for a while I just wasn’t sure what so I’m just gonna wing it cuz why not! First I love your profile love, I can relate to literally everything on there so thank you for everything you wrote on your profile because it made me smile. Second this book, I don’t know how you did it but it was absolutely amazing I’m in love with the entire story and wish it would keep going but alas all good things must stop at some point. I for one would love to see Hagrid’s perspective on everything that happens and with the amazing way you write I would love to read something like that. Tbh girl you made me cry too many times, but I thank you for it because it reminds me why I love to write. And lastly I want to thank you for giving me one of the best Harry Potter fan fictions I have ever read; I mean to be honest I was searching for Harry Potter sister fanfics when my friends recommended I read this and boy I glad I listened, this has been one of the best books I’ve read in a while and I truly mean it. You are an amazing author and I’m gonna go check out what else you wrote and get myself some more good books. Hey turned out winging it worked! Thank you for an amazing story for tears and smiles.

I've been mostly reading this story on the train, but by coincidence read this chapter in bed at home. Which turned out to be a very good thing, because less than halfway through started crying and continued to do so through the rest of the chapter.

When reading OOTP originally many years ago, I didn't feel much in this chapter for Dumbledore, having not really understood everything that happened. Yet, after reading the previous chapters vividly illustrating all of their thoughts and feelings for Harry, and now this beautiful chapter, it has all become clear, and rereading this chapter of OOTP will never be the same again.

I've had a few quibbles with this story, such as some strange grammar, in particular tense issues, and some minor discrepancies with canon. But in the end, none of that matters considering how you've managed to successfully depict Dumbledore as they were in canon, in a way that I've not seen before and which is essentially becoming canonical for me.

Man this story was awesome. It really did feel like Rowling’s own writing, all characters captured very well. Hope the new Fantastic Beasts 2 movie doesn’t mess things up... I mean I didn’t expect Nagini to be a woman

Dumbledore burns Sirius' letter to protect him, yet sends him a Patronus that could give away his location...
