A powerful one-shot. Very well written.

Actually, think " 4 December 2014 ", as this was When I typed this in, but for whatever reason it didn't take...

I have interests in fic, it started so many years ago looking mainly instead for various Bondage-themed sex, which spread into other tags, because who doesn't like a little F/F in their cocoa. And now, with Fanfic, but I found StarTrek:Voyager and Babylon5, CSI, Guiding Light and All My Children, and ... Buffy! oooohhh lots of BUFFY. Turn over enough rocks though, and you'll find more, and less than, just gold.
I've been looking for a story I R&R'ed a couple weeks ago and instead read a teaser for "Citadel", which suggests to read this one first, and I have.

It does read solidly... just up til the end. Your Azula 'sees' the moment after he finally answers her, and it was that safe moment to let the tears come, but you don't.
He gives her the truth with 5 simple and profound words, and she answers, and its here, with no prying eyes nor scheming agenda from either side, he could, he should! step Towards her and shield her from the universe within the circle of his arms around her shoulders... but doesn't. Zuko has learned so much in the last year from his uncle Iroh, yes, moreso by what he did as to how he said it. And also so Very much from those last weeks standing side by side with his new friends, and the love he could give back to Iroh in that hug when Jun brought them together again. He could have been that for his sister, a rock of honesty and love. And you merely had him leave.
OUCH!
There are technical merits, such as the odd missing word or missed spelling, but its good. Certainly better than many others here on .
I just thought maybe be truer to the characters. Thanks again.

This fic was absolutely EPIC. Institutionalized!Azula was still Azula-she didnt feel like a completely different character. I love her new understanding of Zuko's perspective. Love. This is one of the few post-Azula fics that I have really and thoroughly enjoyed, since many people write her personality after her breakdown as very different... hard to explain but there is something not as Azula-y about it. This whole story, however, was perfect.

"This seems an inappropriate time." SUCH A PERFECT LINE.

"The single spread wing of a flightless bird." That descriptor for Zuko's scar is AMAZING. Such good imagery. So great.

My goodness, this is like my new favorite fic right now.

I wish I could say something more intelligent or coherent since you and this fic deserve it, but I have stayed up all night and it's 5 am, and my brain is flickering. Lol. Thank you for writing this awesome fic!

Wow. Incredible. I love the sensory description here, it really brings you into the Azula's psyche.

I noticed that the story started from Zuko's perspective, and at the end we were seeing through Azula's eyes, but I hardly noticed the flip.

This is very well done.
