I don't usually like when-they-were-kids type fics but I couldn't resist and this was too adorable and sweet for words! I actually kind of love the idea that they met as kids - I remember this episode, and the thought definitely crossed my mind at the time. They are so meant to be.

This is my favorite of your fics and I had to read it again after I read your update to "The Chair". I can't believe I didn't review it! I love this fic, I love how you portray young Ricky; he's Castle, but he's not yet. Katie is cute too! Was Zalman talking to Kate's granddad? I love the reveal at the end as well. Just beautiful! You wouldn't be planning on writing a follow up to this like you did with "The Chair," would you? I mean, this story stands on its own, but it would be nice to see Kate's PoV on the whole thing.

I realise I'm somewhat late to the party here, just trawling through old fics while we're on hiatus- but who doesn't love a review popping into their inbox for a story they wrote ages ago? Anyway, just wanted to add my voice to everyone else's and tell you that I truly loved reading this- I'm not normally a fan of the whole "they met as kids" thing, but you told it in such a heartwarming way, and I particullarly loved the ending, and the fact that they both remembered and they both had momentos. It was a truly lovely story. Thank you!
