FoxLittleRedFox chapter 1 . 8/18/2016 This was brilliant. How did you fit so many emotions in such few words is beyond me. Superb writing. Fox xx |

AnotherStupidNickname chapter 1 . 7/23/2011 This is so good! And I agree, in the end the Malfoy family has been luckier than they deserved, really. |
Lillith Aurora chapter 1 . 3/31/2011 Lovely story |
Schermionie chapter 1 . 1/27/2011 I absolutely love your drabbles, Azzie. I find you pack so much emotion into so few words, and also, there's the formatting that always gives them that powerful quality and rhythm which takes them from 'good' to 'exceptional'. What I liked about this one, particularly, was how well you characterised Lucius. I'm most interested in the Malfoys during and after DH, because I found the way they all drew together quite telling about their relationship - in a way we hadn't seen before. Lucius was always out for himself, for his family, but I think he also lost sight of that for a little while... until it was brought back into sharp focus for him. The way you used what he wanted to show what he was like as a person was very clever - and also extremely appropriate for the challenge. I lovedlovedloved the ending, too. For some reason the image of him turning round at the end was very vivid in my mind, and the Malfoys *were* very lucky. The nature of their family changed, they had to adapt and they lost things, too (like, as you said, their pride), but in the end they still had each other. Spot-on characterisation, amazing use of the prompt, and every sentence was so powerful! This was fantastic. :) |
coeurfeyrac chapter 1 . 1/24/2011 AZZIE. This was INCREDIBLE. It was poetic and lovely and beautiful, and it summarises his character fantastically. It's just... argh. I wish I could say more, but there aren't enough words in the world. It's just sad and lovely and amazing. |
Victory87 chapter 1 . 1/16/2011 Very nice like always |
PieceOfGum chapter 1 . 1/13/2011 Wow, this was great, really great! I see what you mean with being addicted to parentheses - they're everywhere in your fics. Which makes them even better - it gives them personality, and I can imagine that voice(s) we talked about intensely whispering those sentences, which makes reading them even better. And, to talk about the actual story - I must say that I'm incredibly impressed by the way you summarized Lucius' life in, what, 100 words? You're gifted, really gifted! I also loved the twist in which you, unlike almost everyone else - myself included, I've written a fic for this challenge, I've just not published it yet - made what Lucius saw in the mirror real. And that got me thinking on two things - one, how fitting the last sentence was, considering that Dumbledore himself said that 'The happiest man on earth would look into the mirror and see himself'. See? Lucius had already gotten all that he wanted, which made him The Happiest Man on Earth! The second thing was how fitting the song I was listening to when I read this was - 'Nothing's gonna change my love for you' ...Fitting, isn't it? For Lucius would love his family through anything and everything, he proved that in DH. And they'd have done anything for him, too. All in all, great fic - so great that I wrote a review longer than the actual fic...Ôo I really ought to try restraining myself. |
Estella May chapter 1 . 1/12/2011 Aww, that was beautiful! Your words are almost like lyrics...I kind of found myself humming along to them. (Weird, right?) |
Expecting Rain chapter 1 . 1/12/2011 Awwwww, I love the ending! And the line about the wand. |
AngelofDarkness1605 chapter 1 . 1/12/2011 Yay, a Lucius drabble! :D I totally love this, especially this line: All he wanted then was a wand – to protect – and a place to hide. Keep up the great work! :D |
BellaPur chapter 1 . 1/12/2011 Wow! Absolutely perfect Azzie. That last bit about being lucky... I've always thought that about Lucius. He may have fallen from grace a bit but at the end of Deathly Hallows he still has his wealth his charm and most importantly his family. Let's face it, with charisma like that, he will definitely worm his way back into some powerful people's good books. Despite everything the Malfoys are the real winners in Harry Potter I think. But now I'm rambling. It was really good Azzie. Really good. |
