   sonder this chapter 4 . 6/1 I completely agree with your A/N which is why I disagree with the sentiment that it's "bitchy" to point out something that is reasonable justified. But moving on to greener pastures, I am enjoying your psyche-delving for these two protagonists. The only OOC-ness I felt was in this chapter actually. I know we want to get the shipping shipped but with how he was characterized so far, Batman has only /recently/ been pushed out of their routine dynamic (twice so far) and he seems to be the type to only push harder at keeping his distance (physically and emotionally) to overcompensate his residual humanity. Looking for Catwoman to find out why she hasn't been pestering him lately doesn't seem to be his typical modus operandi. He may be disconcerted with her sudden silence but within that very same line of thought, he'd also be grateful for it because that's just the sort of masochist he is. Bruce is so entrenched in his work towards justice that he's willing to sacrifice his happiness for it. That's why I feel like their relationship development would be a slow one or at least slow enough to be realistic - the man has a lot of baggage to sort through after all. You did give us the beginnings of some lapses with his demeanor but while he may have wondered about Catwoman's sudden absence, it doesn't seem like him to think about how she may be cavorting with another guy. It's just not very... Batman-y? Even if the Bat is only one side of him, it's still an intrinsic part of his character. Anyways, it has been 9 years since you last wrote this so your outlook on how you would have written this probably has altered in several different ways. |
