I had appendicitis when I was 8. I had been in increasing pain for a week before my parents finally decided to bring me to the hospital because it got so bad. Had to wait in the waiting room for hours before a doctor saw me and but no one was sure exactly what was wrong. One doctor finally told us that he was very sure that it was appendicitis and that I needed surgery immediately. Turned out my appendix had burst.
I was in the hospital for a week and didn't eat anything until the night before I went home. Had to go back to the hospital every day for two weeks after for them to clean out the incision area on my right side they had to leave open. Good times.
I now have a beautiful *cough*sarcasm*cough* 3 inch scare on my side that will never go away. Just below it is a half inch scare from the tube I had in me for days.

Anyway... my point is that I could really sympathize with Robin. Great depiction.
