You managed to portray the relationship between Atemu and Yuugi. The complicity, the respect, the trust, the love and the depth of your feelings towards the other.
Congratulations. I have never read a fanfiction in that author on putting the characters' nature and their relationship to perfection. It's a passionate one-short from start to finish.

I have never read such a perfect lemon, depicting the depth of their love and all that they experienced together. It was the most beautiful and romantic lemon I have ever read and in fact, the details would not fit in this kind of Lemon, where the pure and not necessarily carnal feeling was worked out. That was just a detail. Therefore, carnal details would not combine much in the way their feelings were portrayed and the fact that it was the last night on Earth for Atemu.

Yes, you are right. Yami is fandom and then I heard that dub put it. But in the manga and the original Japanese audio, Yuugi's friends refer to Atemu, even at the beginning of the manga, when Yuugi was unaware of his existence, such as Yuugi. They never used the term Yami. It was Yuugi and after they discovered his past, they called him Pharaoh or Atemu.
In Japanese it is cool to see the evolution of the relationship of Atemu and Yuugi, especially in the manga. At first Atemu was more for protector and Yuugi was who he protected. That is why he referred to him as Mou Hitori no Ore. The use of the prayer at the end indicates that the speaker is above the speaker and is an expression of detachment. Yes, he protected Yuugi at all costs, but it was a distant relationship. Later, when Yuugi joins Atemu to stop Pegasus with the exchange of minds, he goes on to refer to Yuugi as Aibou, partner, as they both start to fight together and he no longer uses Mou hitori no Ore, except in that event in Batlle City, when Yuugi removes the Sennen pazuru so that Atemu does not change of mind with him, while he tries to rescue the Jounouchi (Joey) of the Marik. When Yuugi does this and Atemu becomes desperate, begging for Yuugi to be careful, he calls him Mou Hitori no Ore.
Already, Yuugi always refers to him as Mou Hitori in Boku, with Boku being used by young people and being informal.
Like in the manga / anime, many may say that the relationship of Atemu and Yuugi is an intense friendship, but I always thought it went beyond friendship and that yes, the yaoi between Atemu and Yuugi is canon. Like, after Jounouchi removed Yuugi from the flames of Clow's building in the manga, when he was at the top of the hospital, when Atemu commented about not knowing who he was, Yuugi cried and said he could keep his memories, after not wanting to say more about it and Atemu, in turn, had agreed not to discover his past and stay in the heart of his Aibou forever. Only after he decided that he should seek his past and prayed that Yuugi would accept and later, when Yuugi discovered the real reason for Atemu's participation in Batlle City, he even wished that he would not recover his memory to stay with him forever , but acknowledged that it would be his selfishness and decided to help him.
But kind, their relationship was always love and the Japanese original and especially the manga, reveals that the English sub tried to cancel it and so, decided to use the Yami and modified many lines and distorted comments and scenes.
That's why I prefer the original in Japanese and manga, so I see this yaoi canon.
I, too, was saddened by the ending, seeing the Atemu depart for beyond life. He and Yuugi form such a perfect and handsome couple. Best of all is that it is canon. XDDDD

Anyway... i loved it. I was simple and you could feel the romantic feelings between the two of them.
No hurry, no extraordinary things. Simple and beautiful. Perfection! (with a sad song playing in the background it's time for tears) Your story inspired me to write more scenes with less drama( i love drama! I am from a city named literately "Drama", so XD).

About the gayness of the jap version, i found it more gay during the first season than the Doma arc XD.
Also you are right. In the jap version they called him Yugi. Neither Pharaoh. Just "Yugi" or "the other Yugi" and after they learned his name, "Atem" or again "Yugi" or "the other Yugi".

One last thing! I found your fanfiction from a Youtube video which was using the song "last night on earth", and it gave the link to your story! Best suggestion ever!

Aww... Beautiful. I loved that you made the lemon loving instead of steamy, seems much more in character. God, I almost cried near the end because I kept being reminded of the ending... Q_Q And the author's note at the bottom? Totally agree with it all, especially the part about Anzu. Seriously, she seems to be a failed love interest for Yuugi and/or Yami, added so yaoi haters can pretend puzzleshipping isn't canon. (Don't particularly bash her though; only makes me wanna hate her more and people go over the top sometimes) And damn, I'm only just watching the anime (Japanese though, 4kids ruined it!) ... I'm only up to the battle city finals. Dammit, I still have over sixty episodes to watch before doma! I wanna see the famous puzzleshippy arc!
