Alright I finished the story so I’m going to go over what I liked. The buildup to L realizing he liked Alice was amazing, in character, and honestly my favorite part of the story. The relationships Alice formed throughout the story with Mello and Matt and Near was so well done, believeable, and enjoyable to see pan out. The humor was swift and always apparent. Overall, I really enjoyed the first, I want to say, 30 chapters of this story.

My problem stems from Alice getting on my nerves with her antics, and her overall nature getting a bit too much for me. You started to lose me around the time Doug was introduced. I am not sure if it was me, but I felt the time in America was a bit dragged out to the point where I was skimming through chapters just to get to parts that interested me. For that, I am not sure why I could not concentrate on this case.

More so, I felt the relationship of Alice and L actually getting together was anticlimactic. This was because their relationship and bond forming took the back burner of the America arc of Doug, Zeek, and Eric. This came to the point where we saw more of Eric than we did L or Mello or Matt.

I suppose that was where my skimming of the chapters came from. I am once again not certain if this was just me or the content of the story.

I just felt the story wrap up of L and Alice was disappointing and I wanted a bit more from them.

Dear lord that revelation was so beautifully done. I loved when he admitted his feelings to himself. Everything has felt so natural at this point and I am so honored to read the story.

I was dead on the scene with blowing up the ship. It was anime ridiculous but I loved it so much.

I absolutely love this story so far. Everyone is in character and Alice fits so perfectly in the story.

Man, I usually really enjoy Alice, but right now she is really getting on my nerves. It is obvious that L is trying to look out for her and yet she keeps acting like a child. The world isn’t sunshine and rainbows. Bad things happen and you can’t save everyone. I hope she matured more through the story because I enjoy it so much.
