| Rachel Smith Cobleigh chapter 4 . 7/22/2019 It is rather lovely, just letting the two of them be people without all of the trappings of aliens, superpowers, secrets, revelations, alter egos, and implausible oversights. Thanks for this AU. :) I like Lois in the context of a large family. I like Clark, unencumbered and comfortable in his own skin. Nice job with the repartee, the high-trust teasing humor, and the very quick development of in-jokes. The small-town feel had a ring of truth to it. Nice job with the descriptions. They were never overwrought. And you managed to describe quite a raucous day of sex without ever getting explicit, so nice touch there. It’s interesting—this story, by itself, is a sweet meet-cute romance, not intrinsically particularly noteworthy (that’s not a critique!), but it exists within a context of a multiverse of far more melodrama, and so it feels like a breath of fresh air. You seemed to resist every possible way of complicating the plot or the relationship, and the result was an easy, low-stress ride into what promises to be a lifelong and very fruitful personal and professional partnership. You made me smile and enjoy the ride. Thank you. |
