Defender31415 chapter 46 . 7/16 I found this fic shortly after starting Breath of Fire 1. If it’s any indication, I am gonna enjoy the heck out of 2, because this fic was awesome. Great job. |
Kahran042 chapter 41 . 7/3 They're Shamans... and their last name is Karnov... a NetHack reference, perchance? |
Infernal Blaze chapter 8 . 1/29/2019 Don't think I didn't catch that Sun Wukong reference. ;) |
Infernal Blaze chapter 7 . 1/28/2019 So Joker wanted to get rid of Nina because she's the current Nina? |
Infernal Blaze chapter 6 . 1/27/2019 She's the most beautiful girl Ryu had ever seen eh? ;D |
Infernal Blaze chapter 5 . 1/27/2019 Cool fights, nice teamwork. |
Infernal Blaze chapter 4 . 1/27/2019 Nice fight. |
Infernal Blaze chapter 3 . 1/27/2019 Bow telling Ryu he's jealous because he got the prettier girl is funny in it's irony considering Ryu's history with a certain wyndian. |
Infernal Blaze chapter 2 . 1/27/2019 Good job, really. I really like the way you used Ryu and Bow's dialogue to flesh out their personalities and foreshadow some stuff. |
Infernal Blaze chapter 1 . 1/27/2019 The second half of your prologue really surprised me. |
Guest chapter 1 . 9/28/2018 Question, what was Stens connection with El? |
Hexatona chapter 46 . 8/30/2017 Magus, I want to thank you for this. I'm a big fan of novelizations in general, and pretty much everything you've done, I've wanted to read. As it just so happens, the two big stories of yours I read first are probably your two biggest Labours of Love. You really impressed me with War of the Dragons, and well... you just frankly astounded me with this one, War of the Demons. It doesn't hurt that I think our mutual affection for this series is also quite similar! I like to think the best way to describe a fantastic Game Novelization would be, if someone read the books first, then played the game, they would disappointedly say "Why did they take so much out of the book?" And I can 100% say that about this novel. Yes, like you say in your A/N, made everyone a bit of a wiseass - but that's really the kind of attitude you would need in that line of work. I think your tie ins with the last novel, all the details, the characterizations were all excellently done - I wouldn't have them any other way. The way I felt after reading both of those novels just made me think, "Damn, That's it. Close up shop. That's probably the best anyone could ever do for these games." That's probably true for the first, and DEFINITELY true of this one. I don't think I should wax on with my praise here, others have I think expressed how well you have done in much better ways than I really could. Just know that, I was thoroughly entertained the entire time I read it. I absolutely loved it. I'm not sure if you still get these messages, Magus. I hope you do. Because, I wanted to thank you again. Maybe you saw in the last review I sent you, but I generally don't read fanfiction in the traditional sense. I find a story I really want to read, turn it into an audiobook, and listen to it that way while I'm doing other things. I've gotten pretty good at it (If I may toot my own horn)! If you didn't see my previous review, I'll just summarize what I do. I go through, get rid of some common spelling errors, make new words pronounced properly in engine, emphasize italics text, add pauses where appropriate between sections and in dialogue, and best of all differentiate between dialogue and narration with pitch. As you can probably guess, that's how I read your story. And, my favourite thing to do after I finally finish a story is to tell the author what I thought, and share with them what I made as a token of my gratitude. Maybe it's not something you would personally like (I know it's not something most people would enjoy) but please, accept it as a token of my deep and sincere thanks that you put years of your life making this great story. Sadly, I can't post links in reviews. If you search "ARandomAudiobookAppeared" on youtube, you'll see it plain as day. The mp3's of the audiobook are saved in the first video. Also - you mentioned here you were considering publishing a novel. I hope that dream came true for you - and if so, please, point me in the direction of the nearest website so I can buy it. |
Kamilleisman chapter 1 . 5/3/2017 managed to bring tears to my eyes, even tho I knew what was going to happen. Great work |
zRISC chapter 46 . 7/18/2016 Well... this is definitely the best BoFII novelization I've read. I haven't finished mine; most likely I won't... your ideas put into this story, respecting the spirit of the game, are the best.. I had an outline, but was developing as it passed; It would feel like I'm adding too much. In fact, when writing it I was way different than now, or simply put, less mature, and a lot more angrier ans had too much angst for my own good. Thank you for making me re-live childhood with all this masterpiece. |
dark.muktadir chapter 11 . 6/16/2016 You know what this story is missing? Uncle specs, also there is a severe lack of martin despite the contract. |
