Every single of this shots is great and builds a pretty dark atmosphere. Every character is beautiful characterised too.

I read this story a long time ago and it has stuck with me ever since, it's so quietly haunting and bleak.

This is a great character sketch: while reading, I couldn't stop thinking, "Yes, this is exactly how it would happen, this is exactly what Nephrite would say and do." (I particularly like the suggestion that his addiction was rooted in the stresses of prophesizing; that's a plot bunny I've been kicking around for a while, but I think I prefer the way you did it. :P)

Furthermore, the Kings' distrust of the Silver Millenium is very well-played, especially their fear of the guardian senshi and disgust with/fear for Endymion. They're clearly not seeing the whole picture, as evidenced by their trust in Beryl, but it's far more realistic that way.

I do have one small criticism, however. Jadeite seems a little out of character; while his feigned confidence works, Jadeite-at least in the translations I've read/seen-is a fairly flowery, melodramatic speaker, and I doubt he would throw around "fuck" in anything less than a fit of blind rage (perhaps not even then). Doesn't quite suit his sneering superiority.

Great work overall, one of the best SilMil stories I've seen.
