Kerry452 chapter 32 . 9/23/2018 Ive only just found this story and please please update, youve got the the characters spot on and the story is very gripping. |
original-star-girl-78 chapter 32 . 2/22/2018 I'm very glad you're continuing this. Will Jason give Lisa the slip to be involved in the raid? Waiting patiently for more :) |
Katie Duggan's Niece chapter 32 . 12/27/2017 As always, I take my hat off to you for the crafting of your plots, characterizations, relationships, links, and allusions. There are a case, a rift, several backstories, and as always Gene and Alex to anchor everything. This time out Gene's rough sense of humor was especially welcome (nice analogy with the Jack Russell terrier), as was Alex's level-headed, sensitive approach. She's a professional, though she's still shaken by the memories of her story and Sam's, and the poignancy (and risk) of Jason's. As far as Lisa is concerned, I'm still rather irritated with her for falling apart. There, I said it. I had hoped she would be unshakable and in fact way ahead of Jason. But here we are. I do enjoy the glimpses of Gene and Alex's relationship, though I'm still getting used to Gene's awareness of his role and responsibilities. The stakes seem higher, and maybe that's what you are conveying. But it was good to have Gene hint at what he'd learned as a result of Operation Rose. At least I hope the lesson took. And after all that you still worked in a cliffhanger AND posted two new stories! Again, my hat's off. Happy new year to all of us. |
original-star-girl-78 chapter 31 . 12/9/2017 Blimey, you weren't joking about the cliffhanger! *waits patiently to find out what happens* It's good to have you back. i hope you're feeling better and that life is getting a bit easier for you. |
Katie Duggan's Niece chapter 31 . 12/8/2017 How do you DO these things?! You introduce multiple plot twists and leave us with a cliffhanger. Definitely returning with a bang, no question about. And the situation with Linda is a timely reminder: a vulnerable woman, pressured on all sides, trying to do the right thing, but also clearly keeping a secret of her own. I'm worried about her. And I didn't think I had to worry about Lisa, who definitely has her head screwed on right, and then there was the shock of her jealous display. Not at all what I was expecting this chapter. The same goes for Jason's 5 a.m. encounter. I'm glad that he wants to stay, though, even though he'll have his hands full and might actually find life in the 21st century less complicated, at least for a while. But I haven't gotten to the Guv and Alex yet. In this chapter you've really emphasized their yin and yang relationship, the complementary nature of their professional roles. Alex is relentlessly cerebral, the Guv goes with his gut, but we never know how it's going to turn out. I'd like to say more, but I really need to read this over again! Welcome back. |
Stevonnie-U chapter 31 . 12/8/2017 You updated! ~does a happy dance!~ |

galex forever chapter 30 . 2/22/2017 This is a fantastic story. Please write another chapter soon. |
Katie Duggan's Niece chapter 30 . 1/22/2017 I laughed out loud and probably scared the neighbors when I read about the "spectacle" of seven knights and eight squires marching into Fenchurch East. That sets a standard for great images (I'd love to have seen that filmed). And it was a fine touch featuring all the personalities, skills, and talents of the women together in this episode. That said, it's a bit jarring just now for me to read about the insensitive, condescending, and/or clueless men, as we have a surfeit of ALL of those in my stomping grounds. And as always, fine use of the Geneverse and the memories. You never forget the context for all this but touch on all the emotional components, and I think that's one of the cardinal rules of fanfiction: Readers have an emotional investment in the character and narrative. |
Stevonnie-U chapter 30 . 1/22/2017 An update! Yes! |
Guest chapter 29 . 2/24/2016 Any chance of a new chapter soon...please? |
Fenella Church chapter 29 . 10/3/2015 Aw, I really enjoyed this chapter. I loved the 'stop inspecting 'er frontispiece' line. I miss Gene and co so much, and it's lovely to dip back into their world again. Thank you for writing :) x |
Deleted Account 91 chapter 29 . 9/26/2015 Great chapter! I really like Jo so far, love that she's a girl! Looking forward to seeing what's happened to the knight! LBx |
Stevonnie-U chapter 29 . 9/14/2015 As a short person myself, I feel Jo's pain. And as someone who's studied martial arts, I've also inflicted Slate's as well! :) |
