This is one of the most original fanfic I've ever read and the imagination captivates me right from the beginning. Itachi is touching as always, especially what he had sacrificed to protect his brother. The shocking revelation about the murder of his parents told from Sasuke's POV is lovely and sad. It's kind of odd to me at first that Kakashi's mismatched eye colour kept changing from brown, to green to blue and gray. I guess that's written purposely as revealed in the ending. And I love Kakashi's statement about reality. Thank you for writing this story. And I wish you all the best in your future writing.

This is a brilliant piece, and one that I truly believe can stand on its own as original fiction. The consistency in your imagery, the subtlety of metaphors and meanings, the hints and clues you left along the way that all pointed to the truth - I can definitely say that this is a very well-written piece of work.

Simply put, I love this story. It's not the first au fic with a kind of emo SAsuke going to high school but it has a special something, the attention to details, both regarding canon (Naruto and SAkura's behaviour, Kakashi's attitude) and regarding the setting. I especially loved the New Holly public garden, its organization and how SAsuke and Itachi, having a low income, fit in.
Sasuke's path towards sanity is touching. When Itachi didn't see him I realized he was imaginary but I would have never thought of it before, even though he was too weird to be real in such an AU.
The flashbacks are interesting too. The first one with SAsuke helping his mother plant tomatos is shocking, when one realizes there is no garden nor tomatoes to plant. So Sasuke inherited the mental disorder from his mom..but I would never think he'd be the one to kill them. The killing scene is beautiful..seeing it from SAsuke's innocent eyes like a child's play was one of the best things I read on this site. And when SAsuke talks to Itachi it's relieving for the reader too..I liked Itachi's attitude, it is sweet and sad seeing how he sacrificed his future to provide for his brother, and even though he was cold to him it was obvious that he cared.
This is definitely a favourite!

I stayed in Seattle for some time and I have my best memories there..so when I read something set in Seattle I'm always happy...apart from that this fic seems very interesting. SAsuke's morbid daydreams, and his relationship with a disinterested (I don't think he will be for long though) Itachi makes me want to read more!
