The plot of this reminds me of the opening chapters of my current GS fic, except that you've captured the closeness between Felix and Jenna better than I did. Felix's comments, both internal and vocal, tend to be overly analytical, but overall this is a moving and satisfying piece of work.

There are a few notable typos: "...had been lost to her before once before." and "I wonder why that I?""

The writing is very good. It leans more to the philosphical than the realistic, but I think you used the style effectively with maybe one or two small exceptions. The story peaks nicely with the passage from "Besides... in the end, he was right" to "...be happy about, regardless." Very poetic, yet simple and it rings very true.

Not perfect, but a solid little Felix fic. Always good to see an emotional non-pairing story like this appear.
