Silver Moonmist chapter 1 . 9/15/2003 For such a short piece, you capture so much. I have read one a many of tedious pages that fill the glass with useless adjectives and adverbs. Nothing is achieved to those meaningless spicers unless you add your soul. ~~ |
Tiniowien chapter 1 . 3/13/2003 WOW! this is absolutely brilliant! _ U write so well, I can actually feel what must b going on in Boromir's mind when on Caradhras. Now I must depart 2 read some more of ur fanfics! _ Bye! Love Tiniowien |
Showna EJ chapter 1 . 9/29/2002 Very well done, very well done indeed. Few are willing to attack Boromir's desires for the ring head on and you did it with an amazing precision. I only had one lil complaint. I don't think Boromir every really hated Aragorn, even up on Caradhras. I think he was actually rather intimidated by him. However, its a new take on things- and i for one enjoyed it. I also agree that Sean Bean did the part exceptionally well. Thanks for a brilliant read! |
The Argument Fairy chapter 1 . 9/18/2002 Warning: Overuse of the word "love" ahead. Oh my...exquisite. I love Boromir. :). Ah, I love 'em all, but I really really love Boromir fics, and especially good ones like this :). Lovelovelove this story. I like the way you portrayed Boromir's character, you captured him well. Mage xx |
Nom de Plume4 chapter 1 . 9/5/2002 Love it. Absolutely love it. |
anonymous chapter 1 . 8/30/2002 This was a work of pure genius. Boromir's thoughts tied right in with what he said. It was some of the best work I've read yet. |
Salad the Deceiver chapter 1 . 7/17/2002 Wow, that was...incredible! I love the way you had his thoughts fit in with what he says in the movie. It was a very different insight into Boromir's thoughts concerning the Ring (curse this overuse of buzzwords!). Anyway, very good job (OT: I like your MSTings. Good job on those, too!) |
Avelera not signed in chapter 1 . 6/11/2002 *swoons slightly* That was...angsty. It reminds me a lot of Veiling of the Sun. This was very good, one of the few movie-verse fics I acutally like. I loved the PoV and how you portrayed Boromir (who just happesn to be my favorite character). |
Meg Thornton chapter 1 . 6/1/2002 Loved it. The exploration of the process of self-delusion (an essential part of a lot of mental illness; certainly those who are under the sway of the Ring tend to be regarded as "mad" by others around them) is brilliant. The starting point, the beginning with one little error. In this case, the error is Boromir's thought that he *could* control the One. From that beginning is the ending made. I also like the tension between Boromir and Aragorn: this is accurate for both of them, because for a fair while, they're competing for the same job (ruler of Gondor). Incidentally, I'd say that the turnaround for that particular battle, in the movieverse at least, occurs when Boromir and Aragorn speak of Minas Tirith while they're in Lothlorien. Boromir's speaking of the "lords of Gondor" is probably a pretty significant turnaround there. His last moments, unclouded by the Ring. (Yes, I am something of a Boromir fan: he's the most human of the lot, and I appreciate the tragedy of his life and death.) Meg - |
Rhi chapter 1 . 5/26/2002 Eee! Evil Boromir _; Nah, Boromir rules - poor guy. Too bad he was human. o_O Great fic, captures Boromir perfectly. *Toddles off* |
Lady Cheshire chapter 1 . 5/19/2002 A beautiful interospective. Humanity at its best. Keep writing. |
