Guest chapter 22 . 9/15/2016 Review time - have finished several stories and want to catch up here. ) Wow! I can't fathom how this could be your first fanfiction story. It's very well written. I don't like the idea of them cheating on Carol in this manner - but I do admire how they kept it from getting physical. I'm biased since I know my dad had at least 10 "girl friends" between the years when I was 8 and my mid-teens; at least 1 abortion and 1 baby. After he'd beaten Mom and I and she was in the hospital, he had the gall to cry to the nurses that he didn't want to live if she died because he loved her so much. Bah, humbug! So, this story makes me want to kick both Nathan and Kristin where it would hurt the most. But... you did a great job writing it. |
Mrs. Owl 09 chapter 22 . 2/22/2014 This was such a sweet story. I really enjoyed it, thank you! |
Cheile chapter 22 . 7/28/2013 I was hoping for that ending! Yay, they're together! You did very well all the way through, running the gamut of emotions. You also did well describing the bad relationship with Charles without going overboard. It was all very in character, past and present. adding to my favorites so i can read it again some day :) |
Lilly Valens chapter 2 . 7/17/2012 Well, the poison continuing to destroy Kristin's marriage is very well described. Of course, not knowing Charles' ultimately ulterior motives, it would have been difficult for Kristin to see the wolf in the sheep's clothing so to speak. But wow, what a horrible situation for her to be in! Helps me to understand though where some of her strength that you describe in your subsequent stories came from. |
Lilly Valens chapter 1 . 7/17/2012 Interesting opening. It is often said that pivotal events in marriages will either break them or cause the couple to grow stronger and the birth of a child a child is certainly no different! It makes sense to me how Charles and Kristin's marriage began to slow disintegrate into a shadow of what it formerly was. But, I guess if the foundation wasn't that strong to begin with, then there's a higher chance of it happening. |
Madam'zelleG chapter 1 . 4/3/2012 This was a really fascinating look at Kristin's backstory. I love what you've done here. There is a lot of really nice emotion going on but it's not so tragic that it becomes melodramatic. You have just the right balance and I really liked this. I look forward to continuing! |
mharawolenczak chapter 22 . 6/16/2011 Wow. I'm a bit of a critic of AU, especially for Seaquest, but I think you did an amazing job. You wrote AU, but I like that it stays true to what we saw, just suggests that there was more. I like the scene with ford and the one with darwin. nice job! |
DeeMarc chapter 22 . 6/7/2011 I did like it :-) It had more than romantic undertones:-) LOL Not my usual kind of read admittedly but it was fun all the same! Dee |
DeeMarc chapter 1 . 6/3/2011 Well she married a creep... but I love that you've already established what kind of person Kristin is. You can show her as tough but still in tune with her emotions... I'm just going to slowly work through your stories and drop you a review every few chapters! |
mirage24 chapter 22 . 3/26/2011 I *am* interested in what you write and had favorited you so that I could find your stuff again because I couldn't read your stories at that time, haha. I loved this story! It was a little weird to picture Bridger says sweetheart and baby but I loved it all nonetheless. Did she really have 2 daughters? I thought it was only Cynthia but I haven't watched season 1 in such a long time anyway. Thanks for sharing this story with us! |
Susan M. M chapter 17 . 1/25/2011 Two minor corrections: Bobby went to the academy with Ben and Katie. He would have been an ensign or a j.g. at this point in time, not a petty officer. Also, the navy never breaks such news over the phone. A chaplain is sent to the door. |
Susan M. M chapter 14 . 1/25/2011 On the other hand, I might be wrong about Carol knowing or at least suspecting about Nathan's feelings for Kristin, and vice versa, especially if she's only gotten five letters and Kristin's gotten 30. |
Susan M. M chapter 13 . 1/25/2011 As a former "Westpac widow" (a navy wife whose husband is gone for the better part of the year on a Western Pacific cruise), I can certainly sympathize with Carol. Yet, when duty calls, the Navy answers, and military wives do as they've done for hundreds of years: Get out the poetry book, reread Richard Lovelace, put on a brave face, and swear in private. "Tell me now, Sweet, I am unkind,/That from the nunnery/Of thy chaste breast and quiet mind/To war and arms I fly./True, a new mistress now I chase,/The first foe in the field;/And with a stronger faith embrace/A sword, a horse, a shield./Yet this inconstancy is such/As thou too shalt adore;/I could not love thee, Dear, so much,/Loved I not honor more." R. Lovelace If Nathan Bridger weren't a man of honor, neither Carol nor Kristin would love him as much as they do. And Carol knows perfectly well how Nathan and Kristin feel about each other. She simply trusts them to do the right thing. |
Susan M. M chapter 11 . 1/25/2011 This is reminding me of the end of one of my favorite movies, The Prisoner of Zenda: "Honor binds a woman, too," and the princess sending away the man she loves with all her heart because of duty, honor, and patriotism. Of course Kristin is drawn to Nathan - he's handsome, intelligent, the white knight who rescued her from the dragon, and more important, the first one to listen to her, to actually see her for herself in a long time. But for her to act on that attraction would be wrong, and would hurt Nathan, Carol, and Kristin (as well as Bobby, Cynnie, and Jasmine). |
Susan M. M chapter 8 . 1/25/2011 His wife's been beaten bloody, and the first thing Charles does his ask where Lt. Brooks is. Three guesses who disposed of previous inconvenient police reports? |
