This fic is so nice - I love these styles of stories!

Beautiful. Friendship Sonic and Tails is one of the most beautiful I've seen. I'm not interested in those details of the appearance. Surprised, yes, at first. Normal. The important thing is the heart. I like such as Sonic and Tails have grown. The first game of Sonic that I played was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The first appearance of Tails.

I have seen in games, comics and series, something new for my favorite characters. Sonic and Tails are amazing.

I think it's safe to say that reading the top note pretty much won me over. The kind of reactions I've seen throughout the fan base - which is usually over the most trivial things - are not only amazing, but amusing as well. Unfortunately, you see too many of that...

This is a great lesson that will always hold true in my book. Loved the character studyish parts; the clean house was beyond great; the Shadow part, while I'm not sure if that's something he would actually do, was still hilarious; and the human part even did a little bit of world-building, one of my favorite things ever! And of course, Sonic and Tails being Bros! Also, I have always thought of Tail's workshop as being a sort of HQ for the gang, so I like how it was described here as being the "social hub" here.

You're so right... Dang fanbases.

Gotta say, I simply love this story. While I like to believe that every fan likes Sonic, they can get so irrationally critical over some of the most pointless things... and it just keeps getting worse with each game. Why can't they just accept Sonic for who he is and not what he was or what they want him to be?

But I can tell you are a true-blue fan, one who is willing to overlook the faults because you focus on what is great.

This is a good message to sonic fans because most of them just complain about the games, comics, and T.V. shows that sonic is in. I'm a big sonic fan and I've always wondered why everyone it seems hates one version of sonic or the other. I mean it's still sonic the same look and basic attitude he's just slightly different.

How can anyone criticize how Tails and Sonic look, that's just weird. Besides Sonic looks really cool both now and then and Tails looks even more adorable now then before, if that's even possible.I feel really bad for Tails, who can call him 'Sonic's nerdy sidekick' and not feel ashamed, they are brothers, and Tails is so much more than that.

It was about time someone wrote something like this. Nice message change is good and people shouldn't go around complaining and criticizing because they are eventually going to change to.

Really great! Those kind of complaints always confound me, how much people can complain about something so pointless. So great topic to cover, spot on characterization and all that. :D

Your interaction between characters was great, especially your description of Sonic and Tails' relationship in the face of such harsh scrutiny. That side bit involving Shadow was a nice touch of humor and not too invasive to the main flow of the plot (I have it in my head now that Shadow had been sending Sonic gag presents up until his birthday and that's why he didn't show up for his party in Generations, he'd get yelled at for being such a jerk xD).

My thoughts exactly! I've loved Sonic since I was 6 years old, which was... 2004 I think. He's changed a lot since then, but he's still the Blue Blur everyone loves! Who cares about his height, his weight, or his eye color? (great theories on those, btw!) HE'S THE SAME SONIC! It annoys me when people complain about those trivial things. I loved how you brought the thoughts into an actual thought-out one-shot instead of ranting unlike some authors I've seen. And random Shadow prank. I never thought Shadow to be one to actually think of getting someone something (especially 4 months from their birthday), but I can so see him sendong that to Sonic!

Amen, my friend. Sonic was cute when he was little, and he's cool now that he's older. Black eyes show great emotion, and green eyes are so vibrant. Shorter quills and legs made him look adorable, and longer ones get the job done. Same smile, same attitude, and, most importantly, the same values and morals we all came to know and love him for. Drummond made him sound peppy and hyper, Griffith gave him a more serious but still cheerful tone, and Smith made him grow up with an attitude. I think it's way past time for the so-called "fanbase" to straighten up and face facts: the Sonic of 1991 and the Sonic of 2011 *both* rock all of ours' socks off. Long live ALL incarnations of Sonic the Hedgehog! )
