Love the way your write so much!

I too tend to believe that Jane idealized Angela after her murder. I don't buy that their marriage was much of a bed of roses. For one thing, it's been implied in the story that Angela didn't approve of his "psychic" business, and I don't think she was very happy knowing that he was a conman who deceived gullible people for money. It surely was a big issue between them, but Jane didn't want to see it, he was blinded by his greed and by his belief that riches are synonymous with happiness and fulfilment. He only saw what he wanted to see, but he didn't see the truth: that he was less and less the man she had fallen in love with. The man who wanted to leave behind his nefarious carnie life to become a better person next to her. If the relationship had lasted longer, I'd bet that it would have become truly deteriorated, probably to the point of no return. It's hard to admit, but it looks like only a tragedy would have made Jane change into a better person. Or to meet a very strong, stubborn and matter-of-factly woman like Lisbon.
"Idealize" is the key. You've nailed it. He idealized his married life.

Brava! This story is yet another amazing piece of work. Your writing is well paced and your characterisations are spot-on. I can actually envision the actors saying/doing the things that you've written in an episode or over the course of several episodes. That, is the hallmark of an incredibly well written piece of FF. BTW, I'm quite taken with the way that you write romance, leaving so much to the imagination of the reader. Well done! Cheers...
