very well written. i've read a lot of "travelin' soldier" fics and this is easily the best! my camp counselor used to always sing this to us so the song means a lot to me. :) i almost started crying... this was great! the only thing that i can think of is that the end seemed a little too sudden. i get that the song ends kind of suddenly with the soldier dying and you represented that very well. what if you added one more line at the end? maybe just an "I love you Murtagh" type thing?

also, i love that you paired this song with Inheritance! two of my favorite things in one! :D

Love the story just didn't like that he died

Wow, this was actually good. Really sad there at the end though, I hope that Murtagh isn't really dead. You should give his pov as well...or a flashback of some kind. Really good so far. Can't wait for update!

I don't care much for fanfics that don't take place in the intended world, but if you replace the names, you've got a perfect nicholas sparks novel.
