Skimball4 chapter 1 . 7/20/2016 Are you trying to make me cry?! Really, really enjoyed this sweet story. I totally agree with the sentiment that doing something for someone else is the easiest way to feel better because in the process you forget about yourself and concentrate on someone else. Thank you:) |
Gianna di Fiori chapter 1 . 7/14/2016 The best line of all, I believe, is "Christmas is not just a date. It's a state of mind." So very true. Such a wonderful thing for Tiny Tim, uh, I mean Charlie, to realize. Beautiful story. |
StarfyreMaiden chapter 1 . 8/25/2015 Excellent story! |
Anini mouse chapter 1 . 12/13/2012 I really loved this. It was really perfect and now I actually have tears in my eyes. This was just so perfectly christmassy I can't truely expess how good this was. Never stop writing! Merry Christmass! |
Azolean chapter 1 . 12/18/2011 I don't typically go for fluff and pointless stories. Maybe it's because of the time of year, or maybe I was just too tired to pay attention to which link I was clicking. Either way, I wound up reading this. And I'm glad I did. In this uncertain economy, hard times have hit us all. More and more parents are having to explain to their young children that there is no Santa Clause for no better reason than a lack of money. I went through that myself when I was very young and my father was sick. I've lost count of how many holiday seasons even prior to that where I found myself alone (one year living in a bus depot, even!). And I learned that being alone on the holidays is relative. So long as there are people out there who love and care about you, you are never alone. It was a hard lesson to learn, and I learned it the hard way through a number of holiday seasons. What I'm trying to say is, thank you. Thank you for putting things in perspective and sharing it with all those who read Numb3rs fanfiction. Many can relate to this story in one way or another. Thank you for the time, effort, and creativity that went into this piece. Above all, thank you for having the attitude toward life and the holidays that made this fic possible. I'm off to go hug my loved ones again and let them know once more that spending time with them at any point is more precious than any gift under a tree. Thank you. |
Cissyaliza chapter 1 . 4/6/2011 Very pretty fic... poor Charlie alone in Christmas night... |
TheologyDiscography chapter 1 . 3/11/2011 Awww. That was beautiful. I love it. Sounds like Charlie had a wonderful Christmas. |
FencingFilly chapter 1 . 12/27/2010 Loved the story and added to my christmas spirt, i remember when one of my friends was in hospital after a skiing accident, some volunteers went round the children's ward with presents and had a xmas party of sorts there and how happy she was that though she was stuck she could have a "fun" xmas. That was what Charlie's idea reminded me of. I was wondering if charlie breaking his foot was in one of your other stories as i admit this is the first of your stories i have read and if you haven't written about how it happened i would love to read that story and will have to read more of your stories as they are truely amazing |
Sharon chapter 1 . 12/21/2010 It's a wonderful story! You captured the spirit of the Eppes family and they weren't even together. Thanks for writing this little Christmas gem. |
Notsing chapter 1 . 12/19/2010 Thanks for the heartwarmer. Me and mine are facing a bleak holiday this year, but at least the three of us will be together. Thank-you for the reminder of what's really important. Have a wonderful holiday! Notsing |
Wenwalke chapter 1 . 12/19/2010 What a wonderful Christmas story Mrs GC. I loved it. The feeling of warmth it brings is true amazing. There is such a great blend of loneliness, caring and love that it brought me close to tears. Thank you so much for writing a truly great Christmas present for everyone. Wendy |
wolfeylady chapter 1 . 12/18/2010 I looooved this story! And, no matter what your religious beliefs are, if you have any beliefs at all, then we need to realize that we are all on the same side! |
epalladino chapter 1 . 12/18/2010 Thanks for the delightful holiday story. Everything was perfect. Have a great Holiday, Beth |
1st endeavor chapter 1 . 12/18/2010 Thank you for this warm, endearing Christmas story. You write our beloved NUMB3RS characters so well that they come to life so it’s like watching a new episode and in this case, a Christmas special. I loved it from beginning to end and felt Charlie’s sadness when he realized that he was going to be alone at Christmas to the ending where his heart soared as he experienced the true magic of Christmas. Needless to say, my eyes were glistening as I read your story and like Charlie I had to swipe at them a couple of times. There were so many aspects of the story that I enjoyed; the childhood memories of decorating the tree, all of the messages from Don, Alan, Amita, Larry and the team were wonderful. The message from Kelly’s parents was especially heart-warming. Thank you so much for my special gift! (Squeals with delight). I love the visual that your descriptions presented; Alan, Don and Charlie together by the Koi pond. It’s just perfect and even though it didn’t hang over the mantle in the show, from now on, I will picture it hanging there. I urge everyone who hasn’t read “An Eppes Family Portrait” to read it. It truly is a wonderful story and to this day, still remains my favorite. Merry Christmas Mrs. GC and thanks so much for sharing this “Christmas Special” with us. 1st E. |
