Reappropriating canon dialogue is a common fanfic technique. That's usually fine. But in this case I wanted to argue against it and for your own original work here.

Interesting you using Xander's speech to Buff about Riley. I like it. It will be great to see where this leads. BTW, I don't think any of it is "sloppy". If you want to rework it, fine, but I think it's good as it stands.

Interesting start.

I do have a problem with it being the same speech Xander gave her over Riley. Yes, the situation is similar, but Xander and Buffy are over a year older, with so much life experience happening in that year, so there should be more differences in what he'd say. And the situation isn't an exact match. Riley was being reassigned; Willow is going for treatment/retraining. Riley was likely to never return; Willow will probably return. While the sentiment is similar, Xander's speech should have been markedly different.

And if the same speech over Riley also occured in this AU, Xander and/or Buffy would have spotted the repetition, which would have robbed the speech of its power. If it occured, Xander should use that and ask Buffy if she wants to let that happen again.

Liking the content and the dialogue, but it was kinda sloppy and should be reworked.

And ey, don't whine bout not getting review. You get more than my longer series do! :p

Very interesting beginning, I'm curious where this will lead. Where is Willow going, to England again? Let's hope Buffy will be able to stop her so we'll get some Buffy/Willow goodness. :D
