I loved this fic. I think you captured Arthur's character really well and also his feelings towards each of the other characters. His reasons for Knighting and not Knighting everyone was well thought out and undeniably Arthur-like. It was just really good.

Very well done! As another reviewer said, this seems practically canon; it must have crossed Arthur's mind. And it makes perfect sense - Merlin as a knight wouldn't work at all, and they must both have known that. I loved how you showed Arthur thinking of everyone, even Gaius and Gwen; it reminds us how he's changed, even if he was acting moody for all of series three.

Nothing I can say feels significant. This completely counts as canon in my mind, because it's the perfect way to explain why it seemed no one even considered the possibility of knighting Merlin. (I would have been upset with the BBC if Lancelot hadn't put in his two cents about it when he and Merlin were talking.)
